si alvin din yung reference ko sa mga big men ngayon. pag malapit sila sa skills ni alvin, they have a chance to win a championship and/or MVP

Alaska beat Ginebra 104-80 in game 3, sweeping the series and bagging the Commissioner's Cup title.

GOATE!
Greatest of All Time Ever
I always get into an argument with my friends about him being the greatest player ever. Why Jordan, when you have the Cap? Hehehe
[QUOTE=forgettable moment: alvin missed an important free throw in '92 asian games against japan..rp (represented by smb + espino + abarrientos + patrimonio + duremdes + aquino..etc) against japan..ouch!
[/QUOTE]
Bro i think it was jerry c. not espino, also add evangelista.
on topic, on offense i like his low post-spin-to-the-base line move.
on defense with him and jerry doing the umbrella-like defense underneath the basket it's impossible for any player to score.

hindi man ako ganoon ka-die hard manood ng PBA.,
pero pag c alvin na ang naglalaro.,
tutok **** ako c TV.,
hehehehe.,
kaya mejo nalungkot ako nung TEAM manager nlng *** ** ng purefoods.,
at least nasa tabi prn ** ng purefoods team.,
aztig ka **** ALVIN...
ciao!![]()
Yeah, this man plays with heart...kahit anong offer ng ibang teams noon hindi nya tinanggap, thats how loyal he is on Purefoods...tinawag din syang "Lionheart" ng mga commentators noon, Ironman and The Captain.
I've been a Purefoods fan eversince namulat ako sa basketball (Grade 1 pa lang yata ako nun hehehe), those were the days na lagi silang perennial nun (i remember it was 1988), Alaska and Purefoods are fighting for a single win before the conference ends since they're both winless. Players nila nun sila Alvin, Jerry and Jojo Lastimosa...then later Asaytono.

On topic: I have never seen anyone doing the spin move today just like what the Captain have done perfectly
Patrimonio's tough defenders in my own perspective
1. Chito Loyzaga- malapad kasi, hirap sya sa bangaan
2. Abe King- same as Loyzaga
3. Yves Dignadice- magaling ang lateral movement at kamay, kaya hirap si Patrimonio mag spin
5. Eric Reyes- scientific training sa depensa, magaling talaga.
^ Sama mo pa sila Art dela Cruz at Freddie Abuda!
i remember alvin during one of his interviews na kay alvin teng ang chito loyzaga sya nahihirapan.Originally Posted by StJames

im not a pf fan, in fact dun ako sa rival nila, gsm, but i have a lot of respect to the guy.
THey call him the Lionheart, yet forget to mention his good bball IQ.
I hated him. Was a big SMB fan when the bigote trio of Ato Agustin, Samboy Lim and Franz Pumaren always faced PF for the championship.
Ahh The Captain. My all time favorite player. I learned to love the game dahil sa kanya. I joined this basketball mini camp and he was one of the teachers.
Fave move? That spin move. And he was all heart everytime he is on the court.
We don't have any player today that has his combination of heart, strength quickness, dedication and charisma.
He is indeed my fave player before
He's probably one of the most affected by the arrivals of the Fil-Ams. Hindi na naging effective yung post moves nya against bigger players. He tried to switch to being a 2 but he's not just fast enough coz of his age na din. I love his post moves. Utak talaga coz he can't jump that high naman.
well.. I was a Ginebra fan back then, but he was one of the greatest players in PBA.
hairy kili-kili.![]()
