Question The Electronica Music Thread (house, chillout, dance, new age, world)

When Disco died, House Music was born to keep the discotheques alive. Not all of us understand House Music. And it's not composed of those disco beats you here in 101.9 or the old 89.1 DMZ. I want to share my love for House Music, may it be groove, pure, garage, acid, vocal, euro, american and other aspects of house. If you have insights, added info and opinions about house, please share. I'm not a DJ but I love the beats talaga. Peace!

i especially love speed garage and progressive. and
no other place can produce them than the UK *dubs*
the artful dodgers are really big there right now, they're
wonderful but infamously "clean", u know what i mean?
i used to tune in to groove radio 107 back when i was in
cali. i moved here and asked friends to tape hours for me.
but then they suddenly took it off the air right around
2 years ago. check out groove radio over the net or something.

cheese can be good but not a lot of clubbers admit it...
hahaha! i still know some people who blow up mad on "better off" hehehe!

Thanks! I was kinda thinking of spinning as a hobby so I'm willing to spend less. I'll take second-hand equipment muna and just look for CD mixers na affordable. May ginagamit kami na program sa PC, it's called Hammerhead, it's like a mixing program and all you have to do is get loud speakers and off you go to ravelandia in your own house.

Let me share a few house music songs I am listening to at the moment.

    Spiller - Grrovejet
    Modjo - Lady

I don't know how to describe these two but they sound alike and they are more into groove or old disco beat with an added boom in the bass. Kylie Minogue's Spinning Around was the last music I loved but syempre, commercialized na eh, hope you guys contribute more songs that may be circulating in your local rave districts.

hmm i'm not sure if it's available in Manila. I bought the CD here in New York kasi. One good compilation i got in Manila is Disco Kandi 1 & 2. I believe it's available in both Music One and Tower Records. A lot of 70's groove and disco mixed with great house beats. I highly recommend it.

yah, I've been sorta behind on the House music scene.. I guess being busy prevents me from actually hittin up the clubs.. And I don't think that's going to go away anytime soon.

Check out some of the sounds of the djs at Chicago's B96... especially Bad Boy Bill and DJ Markski..

I haven't been to raves the past months or so..i haven't got the time I just keep up with going to record stores and buying these compilations...make my little place a cool cat lounge of some sort I'm not a fan of those cheesy 'dance' radio stations and songs...like amber's 'sexual'..YIKES! visions of guidos in chains and avirex leather jackets and long island hoochies come to mind. i personally think it insults the true 'electronica/dance' listener. hmm i miss 'raving' .. i'll prolly check out the maskarave this halloween..armand van helden is spinning.

at uy...favor..paki dagukan naman sina Mano Dario and the rest of NBK..all they have is crappy trance...not that System F is bad ha..it's just so boring now..no variety of any sort..it's just trance, trance, trance and more trance!! MOVE ON!
