Hello. *I just registered so I can't post a new topic. This might be a bit long, please bear with me.
I am a big time irregular! Like, menstruating only once or, if lucky, twice a year. I have PCOS, that's why. In 2010, my OB prescribed some medicines and I had my period after 10 days and told me to take Diane during my 3rd day. I only had it twice because first it was costly, second my breasts were TOO sore when menstruating. After the 2 boxes of Diane, I stopped taking any kind of pill or medicine for about 4 months because I needed to work straight; you see, whenever I do have my period, it was like Niagara Falls! Can't stand up, can't stop crying, often needed to change my bedsheet, and all that sick jazz for 3-5 days (I was also prescribed some medication to ease out the excessive period, but to no avail). A colleague then suggested Althea, but man, I was coo coo! I wasn't smiling, I was yelling at people due to annoyance, fought constantly with my partner, my boobies and lower back were aching, and was often nauseous; although it did supress my appetite. So, I stopped taking it after (probably) the 8th Althea pill. Then I stopped taking any pill for almost a year.
This January 2012, I started taking Lady and I am now on my 3rd box. I'm quite satisfied: no physical pain, no extreme emotional changes, no mental whoop dee doo's; the only thing I'm kind of worried about is, my period seem to be "unstable". There's the spotting then nothing then heavy flow then nothing again then light flow, or vice versa. Let's just say, it seems like I am only expelling about 1/5 or 1/4 of the amount of the blood that I used to (Did that make any sense?). That's the only thing that makes me a bit frustrated and, as I have said, kind of worried.
Questions are:
- Is my pill history from 2010 affecting me now?
- Has any of you girls experienced or is experiencing this "unstable" period with Lady? (PLEASE DO SHARE)
- Is it super unhealthy to not excrete the "normal" amount of blood?
- Am I over reacting?
Sigh. I really hope someone would talk to me about this. Oh, so, I am 30 years old, a smoker (I used to be a heavy smoker but I have gradually lessened the ciggies over the years), 5'5, 168lb (has been dieting, already lost some), and will be married next month.
