panu nu mlalagay sa invitation n mas prefer nu ang cash gift? coz in my situation titira kc kami sa house ng biyenan ko after wedding tska n kami magiipon for our own. bka dumami *** kc appliances sa bahay if ever... hope may magsuggest kung anu ilagay sa invitation...

ni-up ko *** thread na money as wedding gift. try to read it. it's worth your time. u will find lots of ideas there..may mga samples din..while i dont find this trend as unethical, we could at least be more subtle sa paglalagay sa mga invites...we have to admit it na pag pera ang usapan, napaka sensitive ng pinoy...common na to ***** pero wag naman tau mashado garapal...again, check that thread. that might help you..happy preps!

hi benavie... i read something bout this matter sa metro weddings... i think sa letters section ata yun. anyhoo, according daw dun sa isang err... etiqutte pro or something like that... umm you should not mention anything about gifts on your invitation because this might offend your guest. if your guests asks you what gift you'd prefer after sending out their invites then sasabihin mo nlng sknla na "enveloped gifts are very much appreciated". or maybe if like super close mo yung guest mo... like relative or something, ***** pwede mo nlng verbal na sasabihin na yun nga... mas appreciated yung enveloped gifts

Yeah hopefully you won't get a toaster as it falls into something light and practical.

I know I will get some flack for this but weddings are not venues to expect gifts--monetary or otherwise. The reason you are inviting close friends and relatives is to share your special day with them. Gifts should be appreciated and not demanded.

ei banavie gurl..let's put it this way, your wedding, your call...

saying something versus the other will just make things even worse...while others do not prefer including that 'paper gift' thingie in the invites (only to find out your gift is being auctioned in Ebay..duh?!?!),

some people would argue na nagpapakatotoo lang...besides, it's not a crime to include that in your invites...i read an article regarding monetary gift as less appropriate..likewise, putting bridal registry gets the same evaluation...

btw, im sure nobody has ever prevented a guest from entering the reception as he/she comes empty handed..the same thing goes for the couple..di naman siguro sasadyain na wag pumunta just because u put the 'paper gift' in your invites...
