I had a REALLY bad experience with customer service of Fully Booked at The Block. I was looking for the latest book of The Girl's Guide business books; I saw it initially at Powerbooks Trinoma but didn't feel like crossing the road just to buy it. I figured FB should have one. So I went to their store, went to the business books section, and saw a bunch of their staff noting down stocks in that section. I asked one of them (a girl), if they have it available, then she curtly looks up from her notes and says, 'Wala po.' Di man lang hinanap or nagdouble check. FINE, so I said thanks and when she was out of earshot, asked this seemingly harmless dude wearing an FB shirt in the same area if they have it. He said he has to check it first, so okay, but initially I find it weird, because with past experiences with shopping at Powerbooks and FB, whenever I see an employee with a pen and paper noting stocks of a particular area, that usually means they're assigned to that area and are expected to know their availability by the back of their hand.

Anyway, so I waited for nearly 10 minutes and the guy returns, saying 'Wala pa po kami, ma'm'. I was surprised, and told him, 'Really? But Powerbooks at Trinoma has one, for over a week already.'

Him: *pauses* Magkano po sa kanila?
    Me: *names the price*
Him: Wala po talaga ma'm e.

So I said, 'okay' and decided to browse for another book I wanted to buy in the Business Books section. AND THEN comes the suck. Coincidentally I was searching for books near him and then he STARES at me for over a minute, then started talking to me in this WEIRD tone, 'Ma'm, san po kayo nagtatrabaho?'

Me: *looks up from reading the synopsis of a book* Sa may Shaw.
Him: Ah. So may boyfriend na po kayo?
Me: *raises eyebrows but still wants to be polite* Yup.
*smiles creepily*

WTF?! Not only did I NOT get the book I want, got subjected to the laziness of the first CS girl I dealt with, I had to deal with a creepy CS dude?! I know a lot of CS guys flirt or flatter women customers to make rapport but this is ridiculous, if you're not going to help/can't get me the book I want, please GTFO, okay. Needless to say I stopped frequenting that branch. D:<

^ you should report that. do you still remember what the guy looks like? that was really out of line. he shouldn't have said that to a customer.

    That is creepy.

I haven't been to many different branches of FB or Powerbooks. High Street, Cubao and Greenhills for the former, Makati and Megamall for the latter. I like Powerbooks because they almost always have this "sale" bins where I find many great books at really lower prices (that is, if you're not too picky about the quality much).

I like FB's atmosphere, and the staff at High Street and Cubao are quite nice and helpful.

@IceAngel: I'm sorry to hear about your experience there. I actually frequent that branch and I think I already know most of their staff. Not by the name but I remember all their faces. And they're very accommodating when I'm looking for a particular book. So far, I don't have any bad experiences with both Fullybooked and Powerbooks and I hope it stays that way. I just bought a couple of books in Powerbooks Trinoma last night because they have this "Powercard holders only" sale. ^_^

That's really weird that they would be so paranoid about bags. They have those alarm things so they're almost shoplift proof.

well, fully booked kasi they carry more titles than powerbooks, and i think mas maganda ang mga stores nila, the fort pa lang panalo na pero i think businesses that treats well their past and present employees are worth patronizing, i have a friend who used to work in fully booked and super pahirap siyang makuha backpay nia, despite cleared na sa HR dept.,their accounting department parang sayang lang pinapasweldo ng owner dahil sa bagal magtrabaho, popular nga yung Fully booked, Fully Utang eh...local suppliers pa lang nila andami nilang utang, delayed magbayad..unethical pa ibang managers dahil inuutusan staff magsinungaling sa BIR officials pag pumupunta sa rockwell branch, calling BIR alam na ba ninyo nalipat acctg. nila sa Fort branch?well siguro alam na nila dahil year 2008 naman na..

Super. Akala mo mga intellectuals por que surrounded by books. There are somethings seriously wrong with how Fully Booked personnels are trained.

More bad experiences from FULLY BOOKED sa THE BLOCK. Tsk, tsk. Seriously, people need to boycott that branch.

Fully Booked customer service people really suck. Period. How on earth are these morons trained???

  11. #91
For me Fully Booked pa rin simply because they carry more good titles than other bookstores. Most of the books that I like, they have. I could find them immediately in the store without asking any of the staff.

So far I don't have any bad experiences from them.

Powerbooks - I did have an unpleasant experience with them. I simpy ask them a book that I couldn't find in their store and they just started talking nonsense to me. Anyway, I just went out of the store immediately.

try to visit both store and you will know

i just want to share my experiences in both store.

i often visit rockwell and the forth branch. we dont have any problem sa fort but we prefer rockwell kc ang mga anak ko nasanay na.

national book store and powerbooks is a nice place but oftentimes our problem is that ang mga staff nila parang walang alam sa mga books.

sa fullybooked naman, there are some staff na ok. in kids station sa rockwell branch, may isa silang staff named roland. my kids used to call him kuya roland. my wife and yaya likes him also because he is very accomodating, responsible at grabe ang pasensya. management should take care of this staff. but last May, i had this very bad experience. i had to go back to customer service to exchange the soundbook na nabili namin kc nadoble na ***. we stayed in customer service for 10 mins but the guy incharge parang wlang pakialam at di alam ang gagawin. napaka-busy sa harap ng computer. mabuti nalang, roland came at the cust service and he explained to us on what to do and guided us, leaving thier store contented. i salute for such initiative and good service.

try nyong mag-visit sa powerbooks and fullybooked and share your experience.

FULLY BOOKED sa THE FORT and POWERBOOK sa GREENBELT 4.

No problems in FULLY BOOKED pa naman. So what kung ipod cellphone at wallet nya nasa bag nya? Nakakahiya sya. KINALADKAD pa nya yung pangalan ng UP. As if naman na dun talaga sya nag aaral. And if dun talaga sya nag aaral. Mahiya naman sya! May mga UP Student and graduates na nahihiya sa ginawa nya.

Sana sinigaw nya sa staff WE OWN THE FULLY BOOKED!
