how much of the business has shifted from live brokers to internet online trading in the philippines? meron bang data on that?

the clear advantge of online trading is the low commission and availability of a wide range of information. most online brokers i use seem to be too busy taking in orders (mine and others) that you dont really get to talk to them about anything. theyre really just order takers.

Online trading is great for independent traders and investors who dont need help and can make decisions themselves. I mean commissions eat our account. If we win we dont win as much and if we lose we lose even more. The brokers feed of at our account and drain it. So as much as possible we have to find the cheapest commissions available (without sacrificing quality). High commissions can accumulate in a long run and can hamper account growth.

Dont be shy in bargaining for a better commissions with your broker, if he wont give you a good deal there are other out there who will. Shop around!

there r live brokers na 0.25 comm, pero talagang stick ako sa 1%, kung malaki ang trade 0.75% sadyang ganun talaga.
btw, kala ko philstocks dati kay jovis?

i was moving my account to an online broker and when my live broker found out and told them im moving it because of the low commission, the live broker offered to lower the commission they were charging me. but it still was not as low as online trading.

I dont think they can compete realistically as low as 0.25%. Since the costs of online trading is cheaper than the salary of a broker.

No its ok Boss Spy, I now prefer online trading than the traditional way of calling its a new way of trading. Sa US naging obscure na ang mga live brokers, kung baga they are just there just in case the online system is down or a client has no access to a computer at the moment. I mean I dont mean I want to have the live brokers go into obscurity what I am saying is what trends I see going forward.

    okes BossT
but personally, to be honest, and without biased, as much as possible, newbies should go with live brokers first then kapag bihasa na sya, pd na sa online.

It's a pity that I only got to read this thread today.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone would recommend a live broker that charges 0.25% on transactions less than P100k.

It's getting more difficult to sell on rallies when the commish rate is so high both ways.

I will wait for that info too (.25% on transaction)
    Thanks in advance

I just tried their 7 day trial. The interface looks really nice. I was planning to start an account with Citisec online but when I stumbled into this website, I had my second thoughts. Any suggestions?
