    YOU'RE, not YOUR!

napapansin nyo ba 'to sa karamihan ng mga sentences na nababasa sa PEx? kahit sa friendster laganap ang ganito sa mga nasa friends list ko. hehe.

kunwari, "Your so bad." mali eh.

ang your kasi ay tinatawag na "possessive pronoun."
ang you're naman ay contraction ng "you are"

talaga bang nagiging bokya na ang mga pinoy sa grammar?

ok kids, that ends your lesson for the day.

it's a pet peeve. seeing blatant grammatical errors just makes my blood pressure shoot up.

one thing more, walang S ang plural ng furniture, equipment, input at evidence

The fact is kahit Americans nagkakamali din dyan at hindi lang sa your/you're na yan, madami pang iba. Kahit sa paggamit ng more (e.g. more faster) nagkakamali din sila minsan.

    this reminds me of FRIENDS.

    Rachel: You fell asleep?!

Ross: It was 5:30 in the morning, and you had rambled on for 18 pages. Front and back!! (they go into the living room, trapping Monica, Chandler, and Joey in the kitchen) (to Rachel) Oh-oh-oh, and by the way, Y-O-U-apostrophe-R-E means ‘you are,’ Y-O-U-R means ‘your!’

Rachel: Y'know I can’t believe I even thought about getting back together again! We are so over!!

Ross: (starts to cry) FINE BY ME!! (he opens the door and traps Chandler behind it)

Sama n'yo na rin yung "its" and "it's".
If you saw the promo plug of Rated Oh (ETC) a couple of weeks back, it says "Catch Rated Oh...on it's new timeslot". They changed it now to what's correct: its new timeslot.

Baka naman hindi "Ayokong mawala ka" ang ibig nilang sabihin kasi.

    Baka...

"Ayokong paluwagin ka" or "Ayokong lumuwag ka" pala ang sinasabi nila.

    Hala! Pang-I&P ata yun ah!

You are not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive
You are not the contents of your wallet....
    You're not your ****ing Khaki's
    -Tyler Durden, Fight Club (1999)

No wrong grammar si tyler durden!!

Pati un 'We are' = We're, instead nagiging were or where,
    ex.
Where going to US this summer...

kakabanas..!!! Maybe because People usually write/type it, the way they hear it, pero acceptable to sa txt message as shortcut.. pero *** pa rin tatalo sa, 'wer na u? dito na us...' hahaha :-) recieved it a lot sa txt that we usually use pang-asar din hehe

mabuti may nagbanggit sa kaibahan ng "your" at "you're"
dahil maraming nagkamali sa paggamit nito.

pansin ko rin ang paggamit ng do, does at did.

did you ate at home? mali
did you passed the test? mali

did you eat at home? tama
did you pass the test? tama

basta alam ko sipsip prin ako araw't gabi noh!

    aihihihi!!!

    baklita
