Depende sa iyo yan bro.Its not the lawschool that will decide your fate in becoming a lawyer. The 2 school you have mentioned belongs to the top 10 school in the Philippines.Kung anong rank nila eh malaking debate yan.Nga lang pag sinabi mo na big three law school, sigurado yan Beda ang kasama. This is not to say na mas inferior ang uste sa Beda.Siguro lang mas madami ang pumapasok sa top 10 ng bar ang beda kay sa uste.of course with the exception this year dahil wala ang alumnus ng beda sa top 10.
Based on what I heard (i'm from U.P. Diliman), i think ok naman sila pareho in terms of teaching standards. Pero personally, i'd choose san beda.
if you took your pre-law in UST (legal management or polsci, etc) go to UST law
if you go to San Beda, i'm betting your reaction would be
"%&*!!#$@% bakit ganito systema dito!!!???"
You could try to this scenario, go to San Beda first then kung ayaw mo transfer to UST, balik 1st yr nga lang (vice-versa)
if you do graduate from Beda Law or UST Law after 4yrs and pass the bar, iba pa rin pag ang title mo ay "Bedan Lawyer"
I'm maybe biased cos I'm from Beda Law but remember, WALA SA LAW SCHOOL YAN
PEEPS!
Thank you sobra sa mga post nyo!
Myst: ang kinakatakot ko lang baka lumagpak ako ng beda then hindi na ako makapasok ng ust... is beda really that hard or is it just as hard as any other law schools?
answer to your post: UP Law...wahehehe. joke.
anyway answer to your question above, Beda Law is harder. My bf is an incoming senior there and dahil walang pumasok sa top 10 sa bar 2005, kawawa sila dahil itataas malamang ng Beda ang maintaining grade para mas "mapressure" sila to excel more in acads..and para mamaintain yung 100% passing nila. kung susuriin, this does not really follow. lalong maraming lalagpak sa kanila.
ang hirap doon, kahit 2nd sem 4th year ka na, if lagpak ka, kick out ka. buti na lang UP Law ako..mwehehe.
^
well UP mailed me a note saying: "CONGRATULATIONS YOU FAILED!"
Ateneo was kind enough to offer me the backdoor saying: "JOIN XXX LEGIS AND WE WILL GET YOU IN!"... well thats the way the fratman said it. hehehe
anyway, thanks for the information![]()

You simply don't learn as much anywhere else. UP gives you immediate access to the greatest minds. And there is no inverse correlation between their teaching ability and their scholarly ability as one finds at some schools.
^errr... the choices are... UST or SAN BEDA
take care dude and god bless
^ahhh... that was a joke hehehehe
the actual letter was kind, comforting, and not so direct to the point... but the message is the same.
quick generalization, have you been to any other schools for you to come up with "You simply don't learn as much anywhere else" . if you have not, then your comparison means nothing, hollow the least.Originally Posted by LeoNell_Mercado

I think having been to any other schools is not necessary for her to come up with her "own generalization". We hear news. We hear words of mouth. We know leaders who are produced by UP law.Originally Posted by ill_behaviour

^errr.... UP should be flattered with the discussion but... your out of topic people... care to take it somewhere else?
just remember EDUCATION is not always about REPUTATION.
UST ka na..dun ako mageenroll dis june eh hehehe...UP LAW sana kung pinalad lang ako sa LAE ahaha...

if you have an idea that Beda law is "hard", when you get there and actually experience it, its 10 times much harder than you have ever imagined (or even more). Lahat ng law schools sa bansa mahirap talaga, walang madali. What makes Beda Law harder than the other law schools is the "system." I could go on and talk about it but I don't want to give out spoilers to the incoming 1st yr law students of San Beda Law, hehe.
Syempre san beda is better..no question bout that (in my opinion)...pero ang downside of choosing that school is....can you graduate from the school?? If you feel you can, choose it. If feel you can't, go to a safer place...preserve your sanity.
reputation wise, it's San Beda. but UST is good too.
if you're good, kahit saang Law school ka pa mag-aral papasa ka.
