    1. (this one is not specific, what do you mean pagsunog, cooking barbecues or something, there are lots of events related to burning, pleace specify.)

One less Commander that wised up

By 1Lt DENNIS C. ALMORATO, (INF) PA
    December 3, 2007

    http://www.samarnews.com/news_clips8/npa_leader.jpg

AGUITING, Kananga, Leyte – The 802nd Infantry (Peerless) Brigade, Philippine Army and 19th Infantry (Commando) Battalion battered anew the beleaguered and waning Northern Leyte Front (NLF), EVRPC in its intensified campaign against the communist terrorists (CTs) in Leyte. At about 6:00 o’clock in the morning on November 30, 2007, CTL Edwin Commendador y Pepito alias Wendyl/Delfin, a resident of Brgy. Tag-abaca, Leyte, Leyte, the Team Leader of Squad Abe, PBEC Nepal, Mt. Amandewin Command, NLF, voluntarily surrendered with three (3) serviceable M16 Armalite Rifles to the operating troops of Reconnaissance Platoon, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 19th Infantry (Commando) Battalion, 8th Infantry Division led by 2Lt. Rod Vincent F. Babiera (INF) PA at vicinity Sitio Cabariwan, Barangay Tapol, Leyte, Leyte. He was brought immediately to the Battalion Headquarters for documentation and proper disposition.

CTL Edwin Commendador y Pepito alias Wendyl/Delfin, a resident of Brgy. Tag-abaca, Leyte, Leyte, the Team Leader of Squad Abe, PBEC Nepal, Mt. Amandewin Command, NLF

LtC. Henry M. Bumiltac INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 19IB said that Wendyl/Delfin can no longer bear the hardships that their group, which is now down to about thirty-eight (38) due to severe demoralization and desertion, is experiencing in the face of the tactical operations and massive information drive/awareness seminar that the Commando Troopers are conducting. He adds further that this is aggravated by the fact that their remaining ranking cadres/leaders can still afford to engage in sexual opportunism and other misconduct against their female comrades including a minor who was impregnated by a cadre despite their difficulty. Disgruntled by these realities, he decided to surrender and guide the operating troops towards a firearms cache hidden at a secluded place in Barangay Tapol, Leyte.

LtC. Bumiltac added that this development is consistent with our assessment that the remaining CTs operating in the 3rd District of Leyte are becoming more and more isolated from their own guerrilla bases as their red fighters and mass supporters have started to go back to the folds of the law disgruntled by the atrocities the CTs are committing even against their own comrades.

Col. Raoul J. Reyes FA (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 802nd Brigade, 8ID said that the surrender of the NPA regular fighter in the 3rd Congressional District of Leyte, considered as the last bastion of NLF, is a result of the intensive internal security operations backed by a massive peace and development advocacy Campaign of the unit. In fact, the Communist Terrorist were made aware of the CPP/NPA /NDF methodology of arousing, organizing, and mobilizing the uneducated and poor farmers with the end in view of “creating rift between the farmers and government”, and not for the good of the people. This is part of the NPA’s effort to attain its ultimate objective to seize political power and establish a Communist Government.

Again, LtC. Bumiltac emphasized that this latest tactical victory against the CTs is a proof of the efficacy of the peoples’ support in the campaign against the insurgents. “We are getting effective in keeping their world smaller each day till they find no way out, but to surrender” he said. This is in line with the purpose of the unit to totally dismantle the NLF before the end of this year.

He warns the Communist Terrorist leaders and members to lay down their arms as their time is running out and return to the folds of law. At the same time, he enjoined the people to continue supporting the Army in its mission to make an insurgent-free Leyte.

Enemy spy Elizabeth Gutierrez punished by the Arnulfo Ortiz Command of the NPA
    November 18, 2007

The National Democratic Front-Eastern Visayas said today that enemy spy Elizabeth "Sabet" Gutierrez had been arrested and punished by the Arnulfo Ortiz Provincial Operations Command of the New People's Army in Western Samar. "The NDF-EV has been informed by the Arnulfo Ortiz Command that the maximum penalty was meted on enemy spy Elizabeth Gutierrez after her arrest in Brgy. Cancaiyas, Basey last October 24," said Fr. Santiago Salas, NDF-EV spokesperson. "It was a counter-espionage operation and had nothing to do with the village elections, contrary to the military's humbug. As an enemy spy, Gutierrez was no mere civilian but a combatant, a legitimate target for punitive action by the NPA.

"Even before the counter-espionage operation against Gutierrez, the people's revolutionary government had already issued an arrest order against her as early as September 2006 on espionage charges. Gutierrez and her husband, Norberto "Huling" Gacuma, were formerly in the revolutionary movement. But they turned against the people and became accomplices as intelligence operatives for the military. Espionage is regarded as a war crime because of the use of ruse and perfidy. Enemy spies are subject to capital punishment upon being uncovered. Furthermore, Gutierrez's nefarious activities served the Arroyo regime's Oplan Bantay Laya II campaign of intensified fascist state terrorism."

Fr. Salas added that the NPA thus acted in accordance with the laws of war in punishing Gutierrez. "Gutierrez and her husband were identified by the NPA as responsible for collaborating with the 62nd Infantry Battalion under Lt. Col. Jonathan Ponce in the abduction of activist couple Juliet Fernandez and Manuel Pajarito last May 11 in Pinabacdao. Fernandez and Pajarito were brought to and tortured in a military detachment in Brgy. Botoc, Pinabacdao and in the 62nd IB headquarters in Brgy. Polangi, Calbiga. They remain missing to this day.

"Moreover, Gutierrez had direct involvement in various cases of enforced disappearances, torture, harassment, and economic disruption committed this year by the military in Basey's villages. In one case, five civilians (four females and one male) accused of being NPA guerrillas were stripped naked and tortured in the military detachment in Brgy. Cogon. Of these five civilians, three remain missing to date (Ina Gerellana and her mother and husband). Also, while it is being made much of by the military that Gutierrez won as barangay captain in the village elections in Brgy. Cancaiyas, she had in fact been ensuring this by sowing fear among the residents with the help of the military. The village folks were often summoned to the 62nd IB detachment where Gutierrez would finger them as NPA members, and the former barangay captain there was even threatened with death. Because of the climate of fear wrought by Gutierrez and the military, the former barangay captain and other residents deserted the village for two weeks before the barangay elections.
    "

But the NDF-EV spokesperson also clarified that the people's revolutionary government is open to humanitarian consideration if Gutierrez's family will request recovery of her remains, on the condition that the military will not be behind them. "The arrest and punishment of Elizabeth Gutierrez serves as a warning to those who participate in the armed hostilities as enemy spies that they will never go unpunished. The NPA is intensifying all forms of guerrilla offensives to frustrate and defeat the Oplan Bantay Laya II fascist campaign and overthrow the corrupt, cruel and puppet Arroyo regime. The masses of the people hail the victorious NPA tactical offensives and the punishment of the worst human rights violators."

Mass surrender of Communist Terrorist supporters in Leyte
By Maj. OTHELO D. YAÑEZ, (FA) PA
    December 1, 2007

CAMP LUKBAN, Catbalogan City, Samar – Twenty two (22) Communist Terrorist supporters and sympathizers, all with firearms surrendered to elements of Bravo Company, 19th Infantry Battalion in two (2) separate occasions in Brgys. Taglawigan and Banat-e, all in San Isidro, Leyte.

The surrenderees are members of the Kahugpungang Mag-uuma sa San Isidro (KAMAS), a farmers’ organization who were influenced and deceived by the false promises of the CPP/NPA that they will be given better life if they join the movement.

Their sentiments was further aggravated when the Communist Terrorist movement spokesperson Fr. Santiago Salas admitted to have abducted and subsequently executed elected Barangay chairwoman Elizabeth Gutierez of Barangay Can-iyas, Basey Samar for refusing to cooperate with the movement after she returned to the folds of the law to live a peaceful and normal life. She was branded by the Communist Terrorist as government spy when she refuses not to run as candidate for Barangay Captain during the last October 29, 2007 synchronized Barangay and SK elections. Thus, the surrenderees could not wait with false hopes and become a victim of Communist Terrorists barbaric acts like those victims in the infamous Mass Grave at Inopacan, Leyte mass killings.
They also surrendered to the government troops following firearms: one (1) Garand rifle, one (1) Home M14, eight (8) Caliber 38 revolvers, two (2) Caliber 3516 revolvers, five (5) caliber 22 revolvers and five (5) Homemade shotguns.

In the recent Tripartite Consultative Assembly with the local government unit of San Isidro, Leyte, 19IB and member of KAMAS, the leaders and members of KAMAS signified to support the efforts of the military to provide a more peaceful and secured community in the province of Leyte.

Major General Armando L Cunanan AFP, the Commanding General of the 8th Infantry Division commended the officers and men of 19th Infantry Battalion for their successful effort of convincing the group to join mainstream society.

He also expresses his gratitude to the local government unit of Leyte for their continuous support and cooperation with the military providing a lasting solution to the insurgency problem in the province.

Lorena Barros, a young anthropology instructor at the University of the Philippines, wrote a nationalistic poem entitled “Sampaguita,”[18] which focuses on the asses’ struggle for freedom and justice. The persona in the poem addresses a comrade, a word that suggests her own sense of kinship, equality, and her awareness of a new order wherein mutual respect and protection between human beings, regardless of sex, status and creed is possible. NPA-Panay orders arrest of Col. Noel Buan et al for Dominado-Arado abduction
    December 11, 2007

At least five senior officers and personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) led by Col. Noel Buan of the Philippine Army’s Internal Security Group (ISG) were formally indicted yesterday by the Coronacion Chiva “Waling-waling” Command (New People's Army Regional Operational Command-Panay) for the April 12, 2007 abduction of Panay activist leaders Ma. Luisa Posa-Dominado and Nilo Arado, and the attempted murder of their other companion, Leeboy Garachico.

In a statement, NPA-Panay spokesperson Julian Paisano announced that the following have been formally indicted before the People's Court:

1.Col. Noel Buan of the Internal Security Group (ISG) of the Philippine Army

Col. Marianito Perez of the Military Intelligence Battalion (MIB), 3ID, PA

Major General Juvenal Narcise, Commanding Officer of the 3rd Infantry Division (3ID, PA)

Capt. Lowen Gil Marquez, spokesman of the 3rd ID

Demetrio “Hugo” Capilastique of the RPA, special CAFGU of the Philippine Army

Secretary Norberto Gonzalez, National Security Adviser of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and several of his cohorts in the Cabinet’s Cluster E

    President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo

and several John Does involved in the abduction, whose identities have to be withheld at the moment.

Communist Party of the Philippines spokesperson Gregorio “Ka Roger” Rosal said copies of the indictment have been received by the national leadership of the CPP and the NPA National Operational Command and have been forwarded to appropriate national and regional authorities for processing and proper judicial and police action.

The NPA-Panay has issued an arrest order for the arrest of Colonel Buan and others to compel them to answer the charges filed before the People’s Court. Rosal urged the subjects of the warrant to make themselves available before revolutionary authorities, submit their affidavits in response to the charges filed against them and face trial so their side can be heard in the People’s Court.

The NPA-Panay have accused Colonels Buan and Perez of conspiring and directing the interception and abduction of Dominado and Arado and the attempted murder of Leeboy Garachico. The NPA-Panay also said the death squad which carried out the actual abduction and attempted murder was led by Demetrio Capilastique, head of a unit of the RPA, a paramilitary organization of the Philippine Army.

Major General Narcise and Captain Marquez have been charged for inciting and covering up these crimes, and inciting the murder and abduction of many other leaders and activists of legal mass organizations and parties. Even as enough evidence has been gathered to charge the abovementioned military officials, investigations into the abduction are continuing, Paisano said.

Witnesses, including government workers and a number of active members of the Philippine Army, have come forward and provided the NPA with information leading to the indictment of Colonel Buan et al., Paisano added.

Since being deployed to Panay, Colonel Buan has been involved in the creation of death squads and liquidation of leaders of the revolutionary movement in Panay. He also instigated the burning of a Bayan Muna production center in Villa, Iloilo City.

Colonels Buan and Perez were commanders of the Philippine Army’s 1st Scout Ranger Battalion and 47th Infantry Batallion respectively which suffered heavy losses in an NPA ambush in Calinog, Panay last November 19, 2005. Their abduction of Dominado and Arado and attempted murder of Garachico are believed to be acts of vengeance against leaders and activists of legal democratic organizations and parties.

Colonel Buan was once a prisoner-of-war (POW) of the NPA in Mindoro charged with espionage and other war crimes. He was released in 2001 on humanitarian grounds and as a goodwill gesture to help boost peace negotiations with the Arroyo regime.

“Colonel Buan has failed to reciprocate the goodwill shown him by the NPA and the revolutionary movement when he was released,” said Rosal. “Since being deployed to Panay, he has been responsible for numerous atrocities and abuses against the masses in suspected revolutionary areas and against leaders and activities of the legal democratic movement.”

Right.... Go to a kangaroo court and be executed without any chance of any appeal. And where is the pre-scheduled place to pick up the bodies? It may be tolerable if there was real justice.. sadly they are convicted they get the "Chinese Justice".. of a bullet in the head treatment!

Paggawad ng rebolusyonaryong hustisya kay Expedito Ribaya
    Florante Orobia
    Santos Binamera Command
    New People's Army
    Albay
    Disyembre 13, 2007

    Mario Corpuz Command
    New People's Army–North Quezon
    Disyembre 16, 2007

Pascua, 1st Lt. Panaligot, SSg Layug at SSg Avines.

Magsikap, Gen. Nakar, Quezon

So much for a cease fire.... The NPA Killed 3 UNARMED PNP recruits in civilian clothes that went to a PUBLIC MARKET just hours after a declared truce went into effect! Hopefully the blood shed will cease soon! No matter who does the killing it still is NOT right and NEVER WILL BE!

Set your facts straight, kel1guy! Those 3 were battle tested Marines not PNP recruits. So much for intruding into revolutionary territory. Let me guess, your source is the PIA, right? Discern, kel1guy, discern!

CPP congratulates NPA-Palawan for successful ambush, urges more offensives
    December 17, 2007

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today congratulated the New People's Army in Palawan for launching a successful ambush against a unit of the Philippine Marines and urged "all other units of the NPA to launch more tactical offensives against units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other armed enemy forces that continue to intrude into revolutionary territory and conduct military operations against the NPA and the revolutionary masses."

Yesterday morning, troops from the Marine Battalion Landing Team 9 were ambushed by an NPA unit in Barangay Binga, San Vicente town in Palawan. Three soldiers were killed in the ambush.

CPP spokesperon Gregorio "Ka Roger" Rosal said the Palawan ambush "was a necessary course of action in the face of continuing offensive military operations by the AFP and the Arroyo regime's hypocritical declaration of a sham 22-day unilateral ceasefire which supposedly started yesterday."

"The Palawan ambush shatters the peace pretensions of the Arroyo regime and its armed forces," said Rosal.

Rosal lambasted military spokesmen for making it appear that because the ambushed marine forces were in civies, they were unarmed. "Marine soldiers are definitely always armed—with handguns, at the minimum—when they step outside their detachments and camps especially in known areas of operations of the NPA, even when they go out to prepare supplies for their military operations."

"Those marines were ambushed for their armed transgression into known revolutionary territory," Rosal added.

The CPP spokesperson warned units and elements of the government armed forces not to enter revolutionary territory without explicit permission from revolutionary authorities. Otherwise, they are always legitimate targets of NPA tactical offensives.

Rosal urged NPA units nationwide to carry out more tactical offensives. "Carrying out more frequent and widespread tactical offensives against weak enemy armed forces is a most effective way of defeating the continuing campaigns of suppression of the AFP."

Show me an SPO1 that is seasoned in the field and all I will say is ya best hope you can run run run... (if they are!) MOSLY they don't have a clue! <Been there done that!> I have my facts straight and do not use PIA ever as an info source... nor do I use the Phil rev site... both are so full of propaganda no one knows what is fiction and what is the truth!! The real truth is: "Here we go again.. Pinoys are still KILLING other PINOYS! You would think after 39 years both sides would get the message... STOP THE KILLING! So much for an NPA/PNP/AFP cease fire during the Holidays... SOMO. Is that fiction too???? 16 Dec came and went... and only hours into the cease fire the 3 recruits were killed. I am sure their families will NOT thank you for sending them a "body in a bag" for Christmas!!!! As far as the turf war.... it belongs to the people period! Not the CPP/NPA/NDF.... The people! So to kill someone <marines> for being in the wrong place at the right time is just a wrong that can never be righted. May God Bless them all.

Gapiin ang Oplan Bantay Laya at ang rehimeng US-Arroyo

    http://www.philippinerevolution.net/angbayan/images/071221/gmapatalsikin.gif

CPP to accelerate advances in preparation for next year's 40th anniversary
    December 25, 2007

The CPP Central Committee (CPP-CC) called on the entire membership and all revolutionary forces to "prepare the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Party in the coming year by accelerating advances in an all-round way."

In a statement marking the 39th anniversary of the CPP on December 26, the Central Committee directed all cadres and members "to do our best to carry out the fighting tasks of our beloved Party and make significant all-round advances in the Philippine revolution in the coming year."

"The Arroyo regime, especially the fake president and her top military henchmen, keep on bragging that they can destroy or cause the strategic defeat of the CPP, the New People's Army and all other revolutionary forces before 2010," said the CPP-CC. "Instead, they are growing in strength and advancing because of the ever worsening crisis of the world capitalist system and the domestic ruling system, the Arroyo regime's detested policies of national betrayal, class exploitation, corruption and state terrorism and the ceaseless ideological, political and organizational work of the Party."

The CPP-CC directed the New People's Army (NPA) to "accelerate tactical offensives against the enemy in order to seize more weapons for building more units of the people's army and for strengthening the various levels of command from the guerrilla front to the provincial and regional commands and, further on, to the national operational command. We must be able to annihilate more units of the enemy forces in order to gain strength and experience for destroying even more of these until we can seize nationwide political power."

It anticipates the armed revolutionary movement to grow in strength and "be in a position to deliver more deadly blows to the lameduck regime amidst the far worsened crisis of the ruling system."

The CPP leadership foresees the further worsening of the political crisis rocking the Arroyo regime. "The socioeconomic crisis under the Arroyo regime is worsening rapidly and generating social unrest. The broad masses are reeling from the pressures of the crisis and the rising rates of exploitation."

"The Filipino people have all the reason to carry out the new-democratic revolution through protracted people's war... they can avail themselves of the crisis conditions of the ruling system for building their revolutionary strength and advancing from one stage of the revolutionary struggle to another," the CPP-CC explained.

It predicted the further disintegration of the Arroyo regime as "a conflict of business and political interests is growing between the closest relatives and cronies of the fake president, on the one hand, and some of her allies within the ruling coalition of KAMPI, Lakas-NUCD and Nationalist People's Coalition, on the other hand."

It also noted that the Armed Forces of the Philippines is "more factionalized than ever before. Majority of the officers and enlisted personnel are contemptuous of the Arroyo regime and the pro-Arroyo officers at the top of the chain of command."

The CPP-CC cited the Trillanes takeover of the Manila Peninsula Hotel last November 29 as "praiseworthy for denouncing the crimes of the Arroyo regime." It, however, "did not take into account the people's clamor for change under the principle of civilian supremacy and the necessary sequence of mass mobilization and military withdrawal of support from the regime."

The response of the Arroyo regime to the Manila Peninsula standoff show that it is "prepared to go into a bloodbath in order to keep itself in power," said the CPP-CC. "It is therefore necessary for the broad range of opposition forces to engage in mass mobilizations that can discourage the use of armed force by the regime, as in the overthrow of Marcos and Estrada in 1986 and 2001."

The CPP-CC said that the Arroyo regime has even made it easier for the NPA in rural areas by deploying more troops in the national capital region and other urban areas. "It will face less obstacles in launching tactical offensives in the countryside."

"The Arroyo regime is extremely isolated. It is ripe for ouster by the broad masses of the people and a broad united front of anti-Arroyo forces," said the CPP-CC. It pointed out that the toiling masses and the middle social strata are the most determined in ousting Arroyo as "a great deal of vacillation is setting in among the anti-Arroyo reactionary parties, because some of their leaders have started to set their sights on the 2010 elections."

If the Arroyo regime can manage to stay in power up to 2010, however, said the CPP-CC, it will only succeed in "pushing the people to rely increasingly on people's war for changing the entire ruling system."
