That's just the title of Rina Jimenez-David's article (maybe to elicit a reaction).

The above article is the only one that aired the side of the burn victim. That's why I posted it here.

FYI, Mendez is suing the burn victim for libel.

I guess that's ok, their image has been damaged anyway. And rightfully so, I believe.

^ What happened was an accident I suppose... A dermatologist conducted the procedure so it shouldn't have burned the skin... I think she had bleaching right before the procedure?

^ Even a doctor wouldn't perform well with disfunctional equipment. But it's good to give them a fair trial... But so far, most of the reactions elicited from people from this forum on that Beauty center has been negative

I heard Laser diode is more effective than IPL... what do you guys think?

  6. #46
You can try both IPL seems cheaper, but requires more visits to the doctor. All I know is that IPL works/worked/is working for me.

I have nothing against the doctor, infact I still recommend the clinic to my clients.. if it happened once, i'm sure they will try hard not make the same mistake again... it was a machine malfunction, that's it

some people want to whiten their skin, in order to do that, you need to do underarm peeling/ bleaching and then laser treatment

ok ba ang diode than ipl? im looking for cheaper ua lase removal, i read in lets faceit per sesion cost only 2,800?

  9. #49
shoe_addict, diode is way better than IPL.. diode targets the hair only whereas IPL has other functions which include skin resurfacing, scar lightening, so on and so forth... the cheapest place where you can have this done is in Let's Face It...

Tell us how much and how many times you had to go back girl I'm sure there are others here who would like to try but are wary of the cost.

  12. #52
according to beaute, you have to go back after 1 1/2 mos for laser... i was just wondering if i can wear deo while peeling... i can't go without you see

Good morning. This is just a suggestion, perhaps it would be better if you find a dermatologist who is a member of the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS).

Dr. Vicky Belo, Dr. Pie Calayan and Dr. Mendez are NOT members of PDS.

IPL (intense pulsed light) is NOT a laser. It's just pulses of light. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just that it's supposed to really be cheaper than a laser.

Laser hair removal is expensive because the laser machine can cost anywhere from 1 to 2 or even 3 million pesos.

Laser hair removal needs to be performed by properly trained specialists.

Laser Hair Removal though is more effective, as most studies show. But as I've always said, IPL works great for my case anyway, so why spend a lot if I have to time to go back 8 times (haha)?

  15. #55
^It's just a suggestion. The choice is yours.

Go to www.asianhospital.com and ask so you can be connected to the Derma Center. They have a great machine called Diode which really targets the problem hair Goodluck

  17. #57
I've had 2 sessions at Let's Face It Greenbelt. They use Diode and there's very little hair left. Pero sabi sa akin baka 2 more pa kailangan ko para siguradong walang wala na. Case to case basis, there are others na inaabot ng 8 or more sessions.

Based on what I heard, Diode is better than IPL for hair removal. Mas malalim yong natatarget ng Diode saka less chance for burning. Technically di naman daw laser ang IPL. Di naman ganon kamahal P2,800/session only. Pareho lang ata charge nila if the IPL machine will be used. Derma ang pinili kong gumawa, I just added P300 for her professional fee which is a one time payment only.

Actually I have a different derma and she suggested that Diode laser. Mas mahal lang kasi sa kanya kasi sa Makati Med Laser Center gagawin.

Good choice, diode works best for asian skin.. and IPL should work great too, that is if the physician knows how to use it properly kasi it uses lights and if the wavelength gets too high, it could burn the skin

2 sessions won't be enough I tell you... it would be more like 6 sessions at least

Hi! so i just need to add P300 para derma gumana ng treatment? kasi sa derma ko expnsive its P4400 per session almost half, thats why when i found out and read sa lets face it in greenbelt P2,800 per session lang natuwa ako and diode pa ang gamit nila...

pag first time ba they need to check ba or to have consultation?> thanks so much

  20. #60
yes, you'll need to have consultation shoe_addict, you wouldn't want them to use the machine with a frequency that will be too high for you.. may nakasabay ako na umitim yung underarms kasi daw nasobrahan yung numbers or strength, I didn't really get it.. by the way, before I went for a consultation, I used the underarm whitening that I bought here in pex first.. I love the way my underarms look, I just need to get rid of these nasty hairs.. I will go back next year for my laser treatment
