oh. thanks so much you both!
sorry, i didn't see the past thread about this.
mmm kuliti rin ba yung basta lang tumubo sa mata? kase yung boyfriend ko, biglang may tumubo na small bukol sa eye nya. pero sa may taas ng pilikmata nya, masakit sya nung bagong tumubo yon, after 2 or 3 days ata di na raw masakit and hindi na nga namamaga pero may bukol pa rin yung eyes nya... ano yon? dapat ba nya pa-check up? delikado ba yon? please help
It does sound like a hordeolum (or stye or "kuliti") to me. Try the warm compresses, it might still work (though I doubt it kasi mukhang tumigas na from what you tell me). If it doesn't recede, you need to see an ophthalmologist to have it removed.
ok thanks eyedoc!!! we'll try that.. pag di nawala papacheck up ko na sya..
how do i remove it if dust gets trapped in my eyelids? it has been several days already, and it's still there!
If it's been there for several days already, chances are the foreign body is stuck somewhere, either on the eyelids or on the cornea itself.
Or maybe, you might have some other problem, like a corneal abrasion, or a stye (kuliti), which may also present with a foreign body sensation.
Better see an eye doctor (ophthalmologist) as soon as you can for proper evaluation and management of your case.

I've been recently experiencing some pain and discomfort on my right eye. At first, I thought nothing's wrong; my eye's only sore coz of sleep or something. But lately, it hasn't been improving and my left eye is doing perfectly fine.
I decided to check the mirror to see what's wrong. At first, wala. It was then when I looked under my eyelid that I discovered that there's some growth of something there, like a pimple or something. It's not really visible unless under the eyelid of my right eye is checked. And now, I think it's slowly growing coz it's starting to enlarge by itself. Now, there's like a little bump on the otherwise concave-convex shape of the eye.
My question is, what is this and how do I treat it? Eyedrops? Ointment? Help please, it's starting to irritate my eye! Thanks.
hot compress and spersacet-c will do the job... madalas ako magkaganyan eh. sabi ng doctor pimple din yan... nakukuha daw dahil sa too much junk food in our diet.
based on your description, i have an initial impression of stye. its an infection of the eyelid.
usually, warm compress and an antibiotic ointment will help clear it.
still, there is no substitute for an actual examintaion by a doctor. this is because there are a lot of conditions that present with symptoms similar to stye.
ophthalmologist usually handle that but general practitioners is an option as well.
Thanks for replying guys. I've consulted a doctor already and she told me kuliti daw. Is that the tagalog term for "stye"? She prescribed eyedrops already. I was hoping someone could reply before I slept last night, hehehe.
Again, thanks and God Bless.
Yup, sty is the same as "kuliti". Don't forget to do the warm compress.
Thanks again. My eye's starting to improve though I still have to complete the 1-week medication (eyedrops) my doctor recommended.
Doc, sakit ng mata ko dahil sa kuliti, ano po ba gamot nito at sanhi nito?
It usually caused by blockage and subsequent infection of some of the glands surrounding the eye. Try warm compresses first, 15-20 mins 3 times a day. If it doesn't get better see an ophthalmologist for proper management.
I've had this stye (right below my right eyeline/ monggo seed-sized) for 3wks now and I dont know what to do about it. I dont know if I should consult an EENT or a dermatologist to treat this. I just hate thinking about the possibility of undergoing minor surgery because the sight of needles and blood just freak me out and Im worried that any incision might leave a permanent scar. Besides, i have a very short threshold for pain. Is there another way to remedy this?
By the way, I've taken 9 tabs of cefalexin (500mg every 8 hrs.) already, but i noticed only minimal change in the stye's size.
Thanks a lot!
