Yes, you need to use a photo/image hosting site to setup a URL link. I think this version of forum cannot upload from your hard drive.

    Use, http://photobucket.com/ or http://imageshack.us/

This is one of the best posts I've seen in a long time! I'm an avid studier of history and those pictures are like a window into another time. Incredible! But I have to ask, are people today still interested in philippine history? It seems all the young people like to do is play xbox and text on their cellphones and they've forgotten that their country has had rich and colorful history. Maybe that's why wala tayong asenso, we can't move forward because we don't learn from our past.

    wow!

those pics of old Manila are really cool...

i really liked that pic of the old Santo Domingo Cathedral/Church in Intramuros (?). if it was not destroyed by war, we could have had one of the best Gothic cathedrals outside Europe.

    some notes:

    * Calle Rosario in Binondo is now named Quintin Paredes Street.
    * the old Intramuros site of Ateneo de Manila is now the site of that large exhibition tent of Wow Philippines.
    * Calle Malecon is now named Bonifacio Drive.
    * the first site of the Manila Observatory was at what is now Padre Faura Street, named after Jesuit Fr. Federico Faura, the founder of the Manila Observatory.

    - hope that someone here can post old pics of the University of the Philippines when it was still in Padre Faura.

This small square was located at the foot of Jones Bridge, at the end of Rosario Street.
Farther down would be the Binondo Church.
