Hey blue! Have fun on your trip to Halong bay!
Where can we find a cheap 2 and a half day tour package (driver/car and a really good guide)?
xxkissbangxx, naka-book na ba kayo ng hotel? Kasi kami, we asked na rin The Villa Siem Reap to book guides and a van for us (pwede ring car). Their guides are very good, especially Mr. Sam - ask for him if he isn't booked yet. We paid $25/day for the guide and I forget how much for the van, $35 yata. Pag car, baka %20-$30. There were 7 of us so sulit ang bayad namin. I'm not sure if they book their guides for those who aren't booked at the Villa, but it doesn't hurt to ask - contact Anthony & Fiona through their website (say hello for me, we're the group of noisy Pinoys theygot in February).
In any case, maraming makukuhang guide anywhere, ask your hotel na rin. I can only vouch for those we've gone with (we had 2 different guides). There's also this fabulous tuktuk driver cum guide we went with on our arrival at Siem Reap (if you arrive in the afternoon, go buy your pass na and you'll get the Angkor *** sunset for free that very day), si Mr. Sokha. He can also be contacted through Villa Siem Reap.
hi!! i need help...we planning a trip to siem riep next month and we will be flying in from to phnom pehn thru bangkok..what is the best way to get to siem riep from phnom pehn? we are also planning to stay at prince d' angkor is it an ok hotel? any recommendations for a good tour guide and driver(do you still have there mobile number?).. what kind of footwear should we wear at the temples kaya? havaianas? crocs?or trainers? we will be arriving at siem riep at around 5:30 in the afternoon and we will be staying for 2 more whole days before leaving early morning of the fourth day.ano kaya ang ok na sked ng tour ng temples. thanks!
mydream, check Tales of Asia for your options (re getting to Siem Reap from Phnom Penh):

Wooah, Prince D'Angkor is one of the pricey hotels there. Read the reviews here in tripadvisor.com.
thank you very much for the info!! we will be arriving at the phom pehn airport at 7:30am and we were plannning to take the mekong express to siem riep we were wondering if we need to make reservations for this..thanks!
Hi! need advise for Bangkok-Siem Reap route. What are my options? Am considering land travel... is it advisable? Appreciate your inputs. Thanks.
hi! the tales of asia website is really helpful if you really want to the land trip it takes around 12 hours...we flew to phnom pehn via air asia coz its cheaper than the other airlines in thailand then we took 6 hour bus ride to siem reap it was ok naman..
Hi. Tanong ko lang po kung ano yung process when flying to Siem Reap via PAL & Vietnam Airlines. Pag ganito kasi, first yung flight is to Ho Chi Minh City tapos hintay sa airport for 4 hours before transfer flight to Siem Reap via Vietnam Airlines.
Eto kasi yung route na nabook namin. Paano yung luggage? Do we claim it first at Ho Chi Minh airport then check it in again for our transfer flight to Siem Reap?
First time kasi namin to encounter having a transfer flight na di magkaparehas yung airline (PAL then Vietnam Airlines). When we arrive in HCMC via PAL, will they automatically ship our luggages to the Vietnam Airlines plane bound for Siem Reap? Thanks!
hi guys! just want to ask...is cambodia safe for tourists? i am planning to go there (backpacking trip) alone this summer. ok lang ba kahit mag-isa ako na girl?
thanks!
kaya bang libutin ang buon angkor *** complex(includes angkor thom, bayon, banteay srei, ta prohm, pre rup, etc..) in one day like if you start 8 or 9am in the morning til it closes. tnx
^ i dont think so. to begin with, traveling to & from banteay srei would ralready take up a couple of hours. Moreover, I dont advise rushing it up coz you wont really get to appreciate the ruins itself and the story behind it
^^ Basta wag kang bababa ng tricycle, yakang-yaka!Pero kidding aside, I think you should start earlier in the morning.
oychie: Where do you plan to travel? If it's just the tourist places, you shouldn't worry.
for those who have been here, did u have anti-malaria shots/vaccinations or took some medications orally? i plan to use mosquito repellant and use long sleeves
