was in siem reap last month. stayed at the villa siem reap. check out their website www.thevillasiemreap.com. we availed of their 3-day super value package which only cost $110 (USD). it included 4D 3N accommodation in a superior room, breakfasts, packed lunch and drinks (yummy and fresh sandwiches and cold beverages which they put in an "esky" or a cooler), a dedicated tuktuk driver who will take you to the temples everyday, a wine, cheese and olives pack which you can consume at angkor ***, ta prohm (temple in tomb raider) or the srah srang river at sunset. the package even included a choice between an elephant ride or a hot air balloon ride. super sulit. and the staff at the villa were extremely nice.
off the top of my head, my favorite temples were angkor *** (for sentimental reasons), ta prohm, bayon and banteay samre. too bad we weren't able to see phnom bakong, the temple perched on top of a very high hill. during our stay there we were able to see probably over 10 temples and other sites. we got a bit templed out in the process though, so on our last day we only visited two temples and then we went shopping at the old market, and in the evening we watched a cambodian cultural show with buffet at the angkor mondial hotel for USD 12. not bad.
better visit siem reap now before the temples crumble due to the influx of tourists. the temples are in varying stages of decay now, but thankfully various foreign governments are helping restore them.
