Anyone who has been there? I really want to see Angkor *** so much!!!

    Need help on...

    a) Budget
    - Airfare
    - Estimated pocket money for 4 days/3 nights (food, tanspo, attractions)
    - Accommodation (not necessarily luxurious....as long as the place is worth spending the night)
    - Others...

    b) Best month/season to travel

    c) Attractions (aside from Angkor ***)
    - for beaches/resorts, pls specify

    d) Recommended Hotels/Inns/Resorts or any place na matinong tulugan

    e) Things to splurge/shop for?

by thw way, naka-recover na ba sila after the Dec 26 incident?

Hi. I'm also thinking of doing the vietnam/cambodia/china route, but still planning it out. Hope to leave by march or april. There's a tourism expo on Feb 10,11,12 sa megatrade hall sa megamall, lots of travel agencies will offer discounted packages so you can check there. I'm going to scout for packages din, will be there on the 11th. For touring info the thorntree forum of lonely planet has been helpful to me in past travels. You can try it out.

i was in Cambodia (Phnom Penh and Siem Reap) over the Chinese New Year. Angkor *** is simply very emotional place. I had a great time there.

I can recommend you my local tour guide there. He is very nice and knows the place well.

PM me if you need his contact number...

by the way, Cambodia is abit pricey coz everything there is in US dollars. I am not sure if there's any direct flight from Pinas to Siem Reap (Angkor).

same here.... dami nga lang inaasikaso such as
    1. budget
    2. date
    3. itenerary
    4. kung sino makakasama ko...hehe

well, sayang nga lang kasi cambodia is not really the first thing in mind for Pinoys as travel destinations (unlike HK, Singapore, Malaysia, & Thailand) ... kaya mejo limited lang ang tour packages & mejo pricey

the last time i went to bangkok. somebody offered me a package to cambodia.
I forgot how much she qouted me pero i find it a reasonable price. I really like to go see the place, particularly Angkorwat. I have a friend who's been there and she finds it really interesting.

i was in siem reap last week... angkor was so beautiful. i loved climbing the vertigo stairs!

via singapore ako... may promotion kasi ang singapore airlines/silk air... siem reap, da nang and singapore 6 nights US$773 lang. i have to agree though that siem reap is an expensive place... everything is in US$... and HAGGLE as much as you can because locals already know the rounds. they would raise they prices up to as much as 300% if they know you're a tourist and you can afford it!

but other than that, i love the place. i'll be back soon! hehe!

the food's great too! love it! and don't forget to watch their cultural show (apsara dancers and traditional folk dancing).

P.S. the airport tax is US$ 25 so prepare extra cash.

Bili ka ng Jewelry. Specifically Rubies and Emeralds. Cambodia is a major source for rubies and emeralds. My mom bought a sack of rubies and emerald stones for just $500. She had the stones set on various jewelry and made a killing off the ones she decided to sell off.

    Angkor *** is spectacular.

Haggle as much as you can. They won't rip you off as much as they rip off white people.

what about phnom penh? baka mag-bus kami from ho chi minh to phnom penh, and stay there overnight, just to check the place.

how much ang overnight stay don? total budget? recommended hotels?

  13. #13

Cambodia is a bit expensive, more expensive than vietnam and thailand. Just bring dollars, no need to change riel. I just passed by phnom penh, so I wouldn't know prices there. Sa siem reap, where angkore *** is, I stayed at the dead fish inn. Highly recommended, 12USD per night yung kinuha ko, pero you can get a room for as cheap as 8 USD. Pag aircon 15 USD. For food, mga 5-6 dollars full meal sa restaurants, the fancier the place, the more expensive it is. For shopping, the central market is a good place to buy souveniers. Relatively cheap na, I bought a pair of apsara figurines for 6 USD each, kelangan lang talaga mag-bargain. For transpo, you need to hire a driver to see angkor ***. If moto, its 8USD/day. If tuktuk, 15 USD. Entrance fee to the angkor complex is 20 USD for 1 day, 40 if 3 days, 70 if 1 week. U have to use it on consecutive days. For tour guides (optional, but I suggest you get one at least for 1 day), usual is 25 USD per day. Just haggle if you can

mejo malayo ang ho chi minh from phnom penh... it's not also advisable to travel that route since there are still al ot of landmines in the vietnam-cambodia border... take a plane instead.

I also want to see Angkor ***. Game ako anytime hehehe. Let me know kung kelan kayo aalis at kung pwede makisabit. We can go through Singapore or KL.

I travelled that route in april and it was safe and comfortable. Took me 3-4 hours, and there was never any mention of landmines. The landmines are located in the rural parts of the ocuntry, the roads and major cities were cleared na. What's not advisable to take is the cambodia-bangkok route, too hassling and dusty.

TravelBug: In case may makita kang package to angkor *** na mura, sabihan mo ako ah...hehe... thanks! so far kasi, puro USD8++ ang mga nakikita ko.

  19. #19
Almost $800 nga ang packages. May nakita din ako sa PALakbayan for a 5D/4N package; 2 nights in Siem Reap and 2 nights in HCMC. That's inclusive of airfare, accommodations and tours in Angkor ***.

What makes the package so expensive? is it the plane, accommodation, or what?

Recently, I went to Bangkok (4d/3n) for around PHP 20K. eh from there madali na naman pumunta ng Cambodia diba...which i hope would not cost me another PHP20K
