Starting solids, baby food recommendations and recipes [Merged]

Aside from the commercial baby food, what homemade food sell with infants?

  2. #2
mashed potatoes... my baby loves it. I just mix it with
    meat and vegggies.
you can almost give her anything just as long as you mash
the food really well. Just make sure you avoid the food which
cause rashes or any form of allergic reactions to your baby

babynhibie: we introduced solid foods to my baby at 4 months. yun din yung advice ng pedia nya eh.. then 6 months daw pwede na ang juice =)

darn it! the baby's lactose intolerant. she'll be taking AL 110 for two weeks before going back to promil follow-on.

I started feeding my baby when she was 2 and
a half months old. I gave her yung mga gerber food.
My mother-in-law advised me kasi na if you start
feeding your little one early eh tatalino daw.
Well, I hope totoo nga yun. I also have no trouble
introducing rice and veggies. Mas gusto pa kumain
ng baby ko than to drink her milk... weird nga eh.

  7. #7
    our pedia is kinda straight-laced:

0-6 months - nothing but milk
6-9 months - milk and some cereal
6-9 (modified) - start adding a little mashed fruits and veggies
9 months - only here can we start feeding her hard-boiled egg yolks.

2 months...pinapainom ko na ng sabaw yong baby..para ma introduce na sya sa lasa ng ibang food.

    3 months...very little mashed potato.

kung di lang kayo busy..avoid mga gerber or cerelac..iba kasi yong luto ng bahay

i breastfed my son. just to ensure that your child is not exposed to unnecessary allergies, it is best that he be fed solids beyond six months. some of my friends who also breastfeed have postposed solids till eight months.

just like mac_bolan00, we began feeding our son with fruits (bananas were his very first food). some people say it is better to start with veggies because the taste is bland.

after bananas, we tried other fruits like papaya, etc. then moved on to root crops (potatoes, gabi, camote, carrots, etc.) then to soup.

no salt at all. just plain boiled.

i started feeding my baby baby food when she was only 4 months. pakonti-konti kasi baka ma-choke or may allergies sya. ngayon sinasanay ko naman sa rice and pieces of meat and veggies saka i'm training her na gumamit ng sippy cup. kasi i plan to wean her from baby bottles when she turns a year old. lakas-lakas kumain ng anak ko pero hindi sya tumataba kasi very active. malikot sobra. gawa siguro ng kakakain ko ng chocolates nung pregnant ako sa kanya...

is it true na pag kumain ka daw ng chocolates while pregnant magiging hyper ang baby?

  12. #12
i started feeding my baby some solid foods when she was 5 months old. Some signs na pwede na siya baby food are:
    1. naitatayo niya na head niya when in sitting position.
    2. Hindi niya na nilalabas dila niya when you try to feed him/her

Mashed potato/sweet potato are good starters.

    Baby Food Recipes

Hi there, my daughter's 7 mths old and my first. For the last 2 months I have been giving her nothing but plain mashed potato and carrot. 2 weeks ago, I tried giving her masked egg yolk but I'm afraid that she may get allergy or something. I know there are wide choices of commercial baby food but my hubby says that we should stick with all natural. I have noticed that she has not been eating very much lately, probably got tired of it ...
Can anyone please share me with baby recipes ? Is it ok to add a little salt or sugar in her food? Her meal is soooo blunt .. tnx!

i started feeding my daughter solid food when she was 6 months. maybe she's ready na for solid food?

  16. #16
if you want all natural, just do any mashed vegetable recipes, like, sayote, kalabasa, labanos and fruits like apple, oranges, etc....sarap yun or haluan mo rice na dinurog pede na

  17. #17
lugaw na rin pero huwag mong masyadong haluan ng taba ng manok.
    then konting mash potato

Wink Need input on when to start giving solid food

I'd love to breastfeed for as long as possible but my four month old bites me when she wants more milk and I'm out.I have a pretty good supply but her demand is just on the rise. Is it time to start her on cereals or should I wait for teething? If you have tips on how to further increase my milk supply through my diet I'm all for it.I feed her on demand every hour even. Thanks in advance
