Question Super Robot Wars Saga: Who's your favorite 'mecha' robot?

    Are you familiar with this game? If yes... then;
Who's your favorite mecha, when it comes to attack, performance, appearance... etc? and you might want to explain why you've chosen that robot...

I've been playing it since I was able to identify famous japanese robots in this game (Voltes V,Daimos, Gundam, Mazinger Z, Macross, Evangelion, Getter Robo and many many more!)... It's a strategic game that became very popular in different console computers such as FamiCom, SuperNES, PS, PS2, Dreamcast etc...

The only problem in playing this awesome game is the language, If you don't know how to read japanese characters (katakana, hiragana, kanji, etc) since there are no known english versions of this game... the advantage I had was to be able to understand japanese (a bit)

This are some of the sequels: (randomly mentioned)

    Super Robot Taisen Alpha
    Super Robot Wars DS
    Dai-2-Ji Super Robot Taisen G
    Super Robot Wars
    Super Robot Taisen A

My favorite was Voltes V until hearing the Voltes V intro/ending music theme non-stop.

Overall: I really like Macross/Robotech robots, specifically Skull Leader One, because not only does it have the most realistic transformation it also have a kicka$$ story.

Appearance: I like the design for the Orbots. Although I don't think they are included in the Super Robot Wars

Attack: Voltes V. Not the Electromagnetic ball/sword as some might think. This attack was only shown in one episode. I forgot what it was called but it the Voltes team in a V formation then they execute the attack by spinning as fast as they could. They came up with this attack because the enemy wouldn't let them "Volt-in". Why they only used this in one episode I really don't know, this was a very powerful attack.

Cool factor: Jazz from Transformers. Robot to Porsche to Robot 'nuff said

^that attack was a homage to the preceding series (Voltes is part of what is now called the Nagahama Romance Trilogy-the late anime director Tadao Nagahama's robot trilogy-Combattler V, Voltes-V, Daimos) Combattler-V's final attack, Chodenji Spin.

Most powerful robot in SRW: Ideot...este Ideon
Coolest attack animation: Genesic Gao Gai Gar's Goldion Crusher attack
Best entrance: Rom Stoll (need I say more? )
Best FMV of all: The Londo Bell attack on Macross sequence in Alpha Gaiden. The Getta Robo G first sortie sequence in Alpha 1 comes second.

my favorite is nu gundam because it can whoop enemies at long range, thanks to its fin funnel.^_^

i always pump up the pilot's morale so that they can pull off their most devastating special moves.

The Most Powerful Robot in whole Robot Wars including the Wonder Swan:

Dis Astranagaun (Super Robot Wars Alpha 3)
    The Reason:
    Has Regenerating Sp
Can Dodge Final Boss's Attacks without help of seishins
Can deal more damage than Daizengar and Aussenteisser's combo attack
Can finish all stages by itself (although stage 59 is tricky, its still possible)

    2nd most powerful unit
Neo Granzon from SRW - Gaiden: Lord of Elementals (SNES)
16000 base attack for the Black Hole Buster - Eat that Ideon! you can only go 9999.
    can single hit any enemy

Di ako maka-edit, nakalimutan ko sabihin yan special move nayan is base on the final scene of Macross F kung saan need kumanta ng dalawa girls para makipag-communicate sa mga aliens (insect) na-na mind control ng kalaban at yun move na ginawa ng pilot is when we was swerving through the enemy para sirain yung pang mind control ng kalaban. I think that's base on the movie kasi may kislap-kislap pa. lol!

Anyone who's played SRW will tell you they started playing it because it has their favorite robot in the lineup. I started with SRW4 because it has Daimos. Therefore, I would like to propose to change the question:

"Which is the most broken robot/pilot in an SRW game?"

for the pilot, I may be biased but its always Amuro Ray. No matter what SRW, he always is the top pilot.

    For robots:
SRW4-Bilbine-sure Amuro is godly but the Nu Gundam suffers from 2 weaknesses in the classic SRWs: 1) it can't fly 2)it has beam weapons. The Guests even on the grunt level have beam coating which reduces the damages of beam rifles. Amuro's only options are vulcans, bazooka and fin funnels which has 6 rounds then. Bilbine (and its secret replacements Sirbine and Zuwath) neatly solves this problem with the pilot Sho Zama's high skill level and the high agility and after image of the mecha. Even Zezenan cried tears facing my Sirbine.

Neo SRW-Shining/God Gundam-since you get Amuro midway in the game and space-route even, so that means if you take Earth rout Amuro joins late, they gave Domon the ability to plow though the enemies in the Earth route.

SRWF/F-Final: Given how broken God Gundam and Bilbine was, they balanced them out here but still high-tier.

SRW Alpha-Dancougar-*gasp* Dancougar you might ask after it sucked tremendously in SRW4? Why yes, because of the wonky damage mechanics and the inherent "Aggressive Beast" ability, a fully upgraded Dancougar with Hot Blood can dish 40k+ damage, outlclassing the mighty Shin Getter who can only deal 35k+ tops with Hot Blood. Too bad they fixed the damage system in Alpha Gaiden.

Nintendo GBA/DS SRWs-its always the hero's mecha although I take exception to Tekkaman Blade (SRWW) and and Fafner Mark Seine (K) as broken. haven't started L yet.

SRW Alpha 2-Once again, we have a super robot here...JEEG! its S size, so it has hit penalties for its enemies and it dodges like crazy and dishes out strong attacks.

SRW Alpha 3-Dis Astranagun, end of story

SRWZ1-Orguss. All my playthroughs, Kei...KEI! is always tops. Being voiced by Sho Hayami aka Max Jenius also helps too

SRWZ2 (both 2.1 and 2.2)-Scopedog-the Scopedog is just a barrel with wheels and ammo but in the hands of Chirico, even the "King of Destruction" keels over to it.

    P.S.
SRW J for Gameboy. ayoko ng graphics nakakainis pero gusto ko yung map attacks especially Freedom and Justice na nasa Meteor Unit.
