    dear Cyberspace babe,

when you give out 'the best of products' do you include all products or only products that sponsor your mag?

    just curious.

    thanks

^ we did a survey among our readers (through our 10 official Friendster accounts and MEG Club members), and we compiled their answers. those we featured are of course, the ones that topped the list. we do our surveys from july to september, then the results come out in our october issue.

    More beauty picks...

    1. Aido Lip Shiner: light, fruity (strawberry & cherry-flavored) lip gloss that DOESN'T smell, feel sticky, or change the color of your lipstick (so ok syang ipatong). Also, it doesn't cause lips to crack or blister (my unfortunate experience with Avon's rollerball gloss).

    2. Aido 2-in-1 Blush in #2: Orange-y tint that makes skin looked sun-kissed and not clown-y. Lasts the whole day even without retouch (and I keep wiping my face with oil-blotting paper at that!)

    3. Freeway Blush in Hot Pink: Comes with a blush brush, but I find the brush too sparse to really blend the color well (it comes off streaky). Anyway, using my fave Prestige blush brush, the color gives a strong rosy flush. However, I recommend this color for night gimmicks as it's too "tingkad" for day use. I'll have to test-run the Peach version though...

BTW, sayang wala ng Pink Soda blushers nung dumaan ako sa Glorietta kanina; I don't know if it's just out of stock or discontinued permanently. Sayang, sabi ng eds namin maganda daw.

    3. Freeway Blush in Hot Pink- P99 (sale from P195)

Ang alam ko anti-bacterial din yung Dalacyn-C; antibiotic din yung Erythromycin. Siguro yung 500mg dapat para hindi magkulay pink yung solution (pink kasi yung 250mg tablet).

    golden fabulouz from watsons

    Eb blushes

    nichido blushes

    fanny serrano blushes

    mei linda & mistine

    hbc products

Nichido Blush in "Peach Glow" (thanks sis kaycee)P80
    > Ganda nito sobra. I was surprised by how much pigment it carried. In the pan kasi it looked light lang, I was afraid na baka di lumabas. Pero pag-apply, it gives your cheeks that soft dewy peach look

    EB Duo Eyeshadow in Golden
    > If you want the JLo look or the copper look sa eyes, this is the best duo. P44 lang! Very very good pigment with a hint of metallic. The duo comes with a brass shade and a gold shade. ganda sobra!

    Maybelline lip smooth in Cherry
-- Swallow Monea QR Coat Super Shine - sobrang bagay sa straight hair Roll Eyes for a shinier look

when i compared EB Soft Amethyst and NARS Orgasm, i observed na NARS Orgasm is lighter and more pink than EB Soft Amethyst. thus hindi sila masyadong similar Sad

however, one great discovery when comparing my other blushes: EB Soft Spice is similar to NARS Torrid, only more brown toned (mas coral ang Torrid) with less shimmer Wink

my beauty loot for the week...

Ever Bilena moisture lipstick in shade 303 (P120) & Ever Bilena blusher in Moonlight wine (P44)

Gives the perfect flush for Pinay skin Not too light as to be negligible ("nag-makeup ka pa!") and not too dark as to look like an escapee from Cirque del Sol.

saan makakabili ng Fanny Serrano blushes?

^ tried ever bilena blush na. ok siya for the price! doesn't last as long as liquid blushes/cheek tints though.

both ever bilena blushes and single-color eyeshadows make cute inexpensive gifts, too. i gave one each to my orgmates (na girls siyempre) a few christmases ago and they all loved it!

tsokolat: Anytime, sis!! I like going around and sourcing great fashion & beauty finds and share them with you guys here and of course, our MEG readers. marami din akong napi-pick-up na info from this thread from ya'll, thanks sa tip-offs.

Agree ako dyan sa Pretty When Pinched ng Bench; I've been using it since college (first-ever blush ko) and remains a constant fave even if I know have a blush collection that rivals my crayon box... LOL!!!

For me, it's blush that makes or breaks a made-up face, not the lips or the eyes... just my observation. When I style for others, nacha-challenge ako na maghanap ng blush that will match their face complexion perfectly. Balita ko na Fanny Serrano blushes are good for pictorials that under intense lighting (according to one of our makeup artists), so I decided to find out.

pepperprone: Try Prestige from Essences in Rustan's... it's just P70 the set... don't be put off by the "cheap" looking packaging, they work well and the bristles don't sting. The fluffy blush brush blends powder blush and face powder well into the skin.

indigirl: I swear by EB's blusher in Moonlight Wine... I haven't tried the single-color eyeshadows, but I bought a new eyeshadow compact recently and I like the colors: varied but nothing too loud and distracting. I apply it wet to make the color more intense (but still subtle for day use) and to make it last longer.

question how do u know what shade you?

    Talking

the seller_29: For me, there's no hard & fast rule on what blush is "bagay"... depends on the skin tone & type, prominent features and the bone structure of the face (which varies from one person to another; like some morenas are more reddish than other morenas, some tisays are more yellowish than other tisays).

But I hope this list I made helps...

    1) Really fair: Apricot & peach (pink makes you look swollen)
    2) Fair: Pink & peach (too-dark colors appear like bruises)
    3) Dark: Amber & terracotta (peach covers the luster of a nice tan)
    4) Very dark: Terracotta and coral (lighter colors will not stand out on your skin)

Don't be afraid to experiment in mixing and matching different colors to suit your unique face! And don't forget to BLEND, BLEND, BLEND!!!

BTW, thanks sa beauty tip mo about EB's Golden eyeshadow duo... I bought the last set from SM Makati kanina... haha, buti na lang may isa pang natira... I went there just for that! It's the "missing" link for my "nude" makeup look which I can't perfect because I couldn't find the right shade of yellow to brighten my eyes without appearing too obvious. I have hazel eyes (which look green under certain light) and when I tried Fasio's Trans-Metallic yellow shadow, nagmukha akong pusa!!! Waaaaaaaah!!! Buti na lang, you posted that!

Eyes: EB Golden (Bronze on lashline and bottom; yellow on brow and inner corner), with two coats of clear mascara and lined with Avon's Colortrend eye pencil in dark brown
Cheeks: Nichido Cool Rum, with Careline's Peach Glow as contour to make the cheekbones stand out
Lips: Avon's Kiss & Shine in T@ng, topped with Aido's cherry lipgloss

Tah-dah!!! Makeup that looks you don't have any!!!

m gonna try eb blushes..tumingin nga ako and cheap nga talaga

^ try the samplers, and see which shade/s match your skin... and style and your mood. Yeah, sometimes I feel like going a BIT overboard, so I wear hot pink, but often times I just want a hint of color, like peach or bronze. my personal EB fave is Moonlight Wine.

Sorry if this turned out to be a blush thread... i'll go scout for fab lipsticks w/o the hefty price tag next time.

    hi cyberspacebabe,

you write at MEG lang? that mag is way too young for me. hope you also contribute to a more mature magazine like mega (same company ba yun?)

anyways, anyone know of a cheap loose powder except the ponds, J & J variety. I tried careline/ever bilena & wala daw sila.

    thanks

  20. #40
^ i also write for MEGA, but not as often as with MEG. little by little though, our editors are shifting me towards that market and age group because i'm also growing older, hehehe. admittedly though, i'm still having difficulty adjusting to the middle-aged market, so i guess the final transition to MEGA will take a few more years.

anyway... what kind of loose powder are you looking for? *** pang-set ng foundation/concealer, glitter/shimmer, or *** pang-tanggal ng shine?
