Pero di pa din dapat ihalintulad ang MIT sa UST. Ang MIT ay Faculty of Engineering lang sa UST.

Pero mas malawak ang Engineering program ng MAPUA kesa sa UST. Mas maraming Engineer na taga MAPUA kesa sa tga UST.

UST can't be compared to MIT because UST is a top university (board exams, surveys, competitions, reputation, etc., and in general), MIT is not.. as simple as that..

and although UST doesn't specialize in engineering, it is still at par (if not better) with MIT..

and with regard to that tuition thingy, MIT's tuition (as a whole) and UST's tuition (for engineering) is just almost the same.. unless you want a more exciting comparison, UST's medicine (80-100,000 per sem) and MIT's tuition (20-25,000 per term).. hehe..

in conclusion, you can never make a good comparison between a top university and a mediocre one..

Who told you that UST is a top university? You were dreaming !!! Wala nga ang UST sa top 3 universities here in the Philippines. It's better to compare La Salle and UP with MAPUA's engineering courses than UST which was far below the standards compare with those 3. Compare na lang UST sa FEU or UE... That's make sense....he he

you are comparing Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Hong Kong's UST?

i think my officemate from Deatineyow (was this the correct spelling? if not correct me if am wrong) ... going back, i think my officemte from Deatineyow will laugh loud when she see this topic of discussion, coz MIT is very very far better and good that HKUST.

UST sucked big time, that what my officemate say.
only Deatineyow is the best in asia and can be comparable in MIT in Cambrige, MA.

It's not bad to compare with UE or FEU. But don't feel that Your school belongs to the top 3 university. It's just a dream nowadays. Or Maybe it happens wayback 1700.

I didn't say UST is in the top 3 (if there's such thing). You're correct. It's not bad to compare UST with UE or FEU, after all, they're two of the more prestigious and known universities here. But to compare UST with Mapua? Horrendous!

Eh ang engot naman pala ng iba dito, hirit ng hirit hindi alam ang sinasabi. MIT should really not be comnpared to UST. MIT is JUST an ENGINEERING school. UST is an institution specializing in NOT JUST ENGINEERING but of different fields as well. And who told you either that MIT is better than UST??? Isang volume lang ng libro ang achievements ng MIT ciompared to UST.

UST is one of the top schools, that's a fact. Whether it be UP, Ateneo, Adamson, FEU, UE, La Salle, San Beda, Letran, etc...

MIT is whatever for Mapuans in their own rightful sense.

Yes, I believe that the Ateneo, La Salle and UP are the best schools in the Philippines right now. But in engineering courses that compares UST and Mapua was not too good. Masyadong mababa ang standard ng UST....What I try to say here is UST should be compared to 2nd class engineering schools. It's true na University yan, but it does not fully support na kapag University ka eh mataas ang standard ng school. I used to work with lot of UST graduates for more than 13 years in IT industry and 80% of them are dumb and low-IQ. Compare to UP, Mapua and La Salle graduates, UST are way below. That's the facts. Hindi yong mga pinagmamalaki ng mga Tomasino na encyclopedia ng mga achievements nila. Yong henerasyon ngayon nila ay mga bobo.... And btw, hindi UST ang kaiingitan ko.... UP baka pa!!!!!
