when i was in 5th grade, my best friend lend me her Sweet Valley Twins book. after reading the book, i started going to national to browse more sweet valley books. in short, my new-foun love for reading was mainly because of the Sweet Valley Series. when you go to my room, you will see lots of them. as for now, i'm catching up on "popular" books although i am also trying to read other kinds of books. feeling ko late bloomer pa din ako e.

most people would think that reading is one heck of a boring hobbie but i find it sexy. hehehe! mas nagagamit kasi yung imagination kaya nae-exercise ang mind tsaka ok na pampalipas ng oras lalu na kung interesting yung book. sa sobrang kakabasa mo 'di mo na alam yung oras at feeling mo nandun ka na mismo sa binabasa mo. tsaka i find people who read alot more interesting to talk with. sobrang dami nyong mapag-uusapan.

    Lightbulb Evolution

mine was more of an evolution..started reading on funny koMiks..hehehe then progress to Bato Balani, Gospel komiks (santa?) then at Grade 3, i picked up a tagalog pocketbook left by an aunt and I started reading...hahaha..and then I started browsing Nancy Drew sent by my couz abroad and then I was hooked...Im proud to say that I was the one who spread the love of reading in our Elementary class till Highschool. Now, Im more diverse in reading, business, inspirational, (textbooks lang sa school ang di ko binasa..hehehehe) im more into young adult fiction and rather selective on adult fiction as the former contains a much freer imagination. Wish I have a constant source of books like before. Now, I have to purchase my own...waaah!!!

But I do agree that books are great conversationalists, and may I add a great FRIEND.

Tikim-tikim lang sa mga books na Spooksville ni Christopher Pike hanggang naging habit. I remember 11 years din ako (katulad ni HP on his first year) nagstart magbasa ng Hawee Potteh Books.

*** sakin nag umpisa since i kindergarten. my Dad kasi collected childrens books for us. while i was growing up, i got more fascinated with books, lalo na *** mga fantasy stories in Grade school. When I was 13, i started to pick novels I saw my Dad reading, but I did not read them, I just bring them with me kasi naiisip ko nun....I'd look intellectual pag may bitbit akong libro! hehehehe pero when I got to finish 1 book I liked, I thought ok naman pala. Plus when I was in high school, mga naging barkada and close friends ko mga bookworms, that was the time na I started my own book collection. :-)

Ive had always hated books when i was young. The only books the appreciated back then was encyclopedia's and childrens books with lots of drawings and info, specially about dinosaurs. Back then I see people who do nothing but read as people who had nothing better left to do. My dad has so many books and i had become sick of it (but he has so many good titles, but all of them aren't novels) When i grew a older for me reading always sucks..The only thing that gets me to read is the fact that i have to make my homework. But this are years ago.

But now, i started with a book;my former employer gave me one. When i read it i learned lessons and i feels great reading the minds of these authors. Then ive stumbled on another book, and another one. For me reading is something special to stimulate the mind, and your imagination. And now I love books; nothing can replace a good book.

my grandpa, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, brother, sister love to read. so i was influenced by them to be a booklover at such a young age. but i surpassed them all and became the family's resident bookworm.

i first became fascinated with World Atlas. when i had nothing to do when I was a kid, i always open the world atlas. see earth's topology, the sizes of the countries, the names of the oceans and all that. and then, i shifted to geography books, I was in Grade 4, I already knew what happened to Pompeii when Vesuvius errupted. hahaha. And then from geography to history books.
I started reading fictions when I was in high school when everyone was talking about Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys. hahaha. Of course, I graduated from these books soon after I recieved my high school diploma.

And then now, books of any kind. But I have this habit of not finishing one, once I get bored or read something that I can not be of agreement with. (especially self-help books) hehehe.

Dr. Robles (prof in UP). He forced us to read 5 inch thick photocopied references every week. After a term with him, I started reading books. I started with Harry Potter and books by Paolo Coehlo and now I'm reading Dostoevsky and Kafka.
