Korean Series: MY NAME IS KIM SAM SOON
I'm just wondering if anyone here has already seen this korean series? If not, i would truly recommend it to everyone. It's one of the best if not the best koreanovela that i have watched. I finished all 16 episodes in 2 days. This series will make you laugh and cry and laugh again. My heart breaks for the lead character everything something happens to her relationship with the lead actor. This is really a must for primetime TV. I hope that ABS-CBN gets it and could tagalize it. The way the characters are portrayed in this show was so real. Contrary to the conservative nature of Koreans and Koreanovelas in general, this show dealt more with the reality of having a relationship in the 21st century (older woman-younger man, sex before marriage, exchanging sweet phone calls and the like). There is not one villain in the show as well. The supporting cast's lovestory is also to die for. Almost a fourth or a half of the show is done in English as well since the supporting actors came from America. And the eye candy! Boy oh boy! super guwapo ng mga bidang lalaki! i swearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... I loved, loved, loved Hyeon Bin as Sam Shik and Daniel Henny is Korea's answer to Troy Montero. I can't wait to go home today to watch this again for the 2nd time. Di ako magsasawa! I have attached a brief synopsis of the show and the site so you guys can check it out. SYNOPSIS Kim Sam Soon (SS) is a 29 years old, fat, pastry chef, who has just lost her job and her boyfriend on Christmas Eve. She has all the insecurities of a woman grazing 30. With yet another failed relationship, SS scrambles desperately to rebuild her career and her love life. SS manages to find a job at "Bon Appetite" restaurant when she gets acquainted with the owner of the restaurant, Hyun Jin Heon (JH). JH is young, handsome but aloof and cold. JH is the only son of a hotel chain owner. Although born with a silver spoon, fate had dealt JH with a hard hand. Three years ago, a fatal car accident, where JH was the driver, resulted in the death of his elder brother and sister-in-law; and at the very same time his girlfriend of 5 years left him for her studies in the US. JH had to endure both physical and mental pain to overcome his problems and rebuild his life. The death defying experience left JH scarred as he stops believing in love and happiness. Due to a moment of convenience, both SS and JH ended up signing a dating contract, where SS will receive KRW 50 mio (which she needed to redeem her family house) and in turn she will pretend to be JH's girlfriend to fend off his mother's endless efforts to get him match made and married. mukha nga pong ok.. sana ipalabas.. ive read various articles, feedbacks and commnets on the said series.. and almost all of them agrees that it is must see series.. gwapo din *** guy noh.. hehe..

yeah! matagal na sa GMA eto. habang pinalabas pa lang sa Korea, nasa kanila na.
best MBC series for the year, IMHO! all the awards they got nun MBC Drama Awards were a true testament how nice this series it. it deserves all the awards they got. |

The MBC drama series airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays titled, “My Name is Kim Sam-soon,” showed its last episode. The so-called “Sam-soon syndrome,” which started since the show’s first episode on June 1, reached its climax in its last episode. Its fans have wanted to know about the ending for a long time. As many as 10,000 inquiries have been posted as of July 21 in the afternoon by viewers curious about the ending. However its production staff has shot this week’s episodes in secret, even changing their e-mail passwords to prevent the possible distribution of the ending episode scripts. The ending of the last episode aired on July 21 was rather simple. Jin-heon (Hyeon Bin) took Hee-jin (Jeong Ryeo-won) back to the U.S., saying to Sam-soon he would return to Korea in a week, but he has not shown himself for three months and has not made any calls. Sam-soon, heartbroken, started to go out with another guy, but all of a sudden, Jin-heon appeared before her. The audience talked to one another about this, saying “Sam-soon and Jin-heon would succeed in marriage at last.” The drama series, “My Name is Kim Sam-soon” was the hottest issue for the past eight weeks. As of July 20, the 15th episode had a viewer rating of 47.5 percent (according to TNS Media Korea), and it hit the year’s record high of 50.2 percent in the metropolitan area. There have been only five drama series with viewer ratings above 50 percent since 2000: MBC’s 2000 "Heo-jun" (maximum daily viewer rating of 62.2 percent), KBS’ 2001 “`Taejo Wanggeon” (55.5 percent), SBS’ 2004 “Lovers in Paris” (57.6 percent) and MBC’s 2004 “"Dae Jang Geum" (55.5 percent). Various popular words of the main characters have dominated online bulletin boards, and inquiry calls on pastry chef courses have doubled with higher bread sales. In bookstores, the original novel, and the German children’s novel Momo shown in the drama series have become bestsellers. At core of the syndrome are Korean women in their 20s and 30s who identify themselves with Sam-soon, who is fat and has nothing to boast of. There are many women who feel satisfied as observers just by looking at her always confident and outspoken ways in a Korean society that focuses too much on appearances. One of the viewers named Kim Gwang-mi said on the bulletin board, “I was happy for two months. At least for an hour, I thought as if I were Sam-soon watching the drama.” Culture critic Kim Jong-Hwi (40), said, “The Sam-soon syndrome ironically shows that in an appearance-oriented society, pop culture such as dramas have not depicted women’s daily lives of diligence and strong-mindedness, overcoming their frustrated desires.” |

one more thing that i loved about this pa pala were the kissing scenes... as in totoong kissing scene sha. I've watched koreanovelas kasi and usually if they kiss they just put their lips together without any head movement. me ganun ba? but here they really kiss... kaya mas kakilig!hehehe...

wow!!!! super ganda **** 'tong korean series na 'to! i watched this 2 times na... natapos kong *** 16 cd's 2 times!!! hayy!!! ang ganda ganda ****! hindi ganun kagwapo c hyeon Bin pero habang nagtatagal, naiinlove ako sa character nya **... basta ang ganda ganda talaga ni2! nirerecommend ko din na u have to watch this.. kase di *** magsisi

korek ka jan, mas cute talaga si hyeon bin kesa kay daniel. sure b kayo nakuha na'to ng gma kasi dati may nagreleased yung wonderful life ni eugene nakuha daw ng gma eh yun pala abs ang nakakuha. final ba yun?

The first kiss... initiated by sam soon   At jeju island  Various scenes (pic 1 on top of Hangzhou mountain, pics 2-4 their ill fated first meeting, pics 5-7 job interview and working at bon appetit, pic 8-10 drinking together and initiating the relationship contract, pic 11 their "first date" after meeting with Sam Shiks mother, pic 12 sam soon teaching Mijoo how to bake, pic 13 Sam Shik with mijoo, pic 14-16 our main characters, pic 17-18 crying on sam soons lap at jeju island, pic 19-23 sam soon admitting she likes sam shik and their break up, pic 24 onwards sam soon miserable after their break up).  |

MNIKSS is one of my fave korean series..n i must say that the OST is great too! i hope magenjoy yung hindi pa nakakapanood..
i remember watching this series a few months ago..sleepless nights waiting for the eng subs and the video files to be released.. and congrats to MNIKSS in the MBC awards nite-- |
