GMA started 2005 on a strong note and about to end it also in a strong note. i hoping and praying that GMA will do the same thing in 2006, starting with the success of Mulawin the Movie (a joint production of GMA Films and Regal Entertainment) and new soap Etheria.

GMA 7 SETS CO-PROD WITH KOREANS

GMA NETWORK FILMS has been “picked” by a Korean-based independent outfit to co-produce a soap series to be filmed here and aired in four Asian countries, according to network president Felipe L. Gozon.
“This is a recognition of our capability by no less than the Koreans, from whom we buy tele-novelas,” Gozon told Inquirer Entertainment in a phone interview on Friday. “It’s gratifying to know that a foreign company trusts us and wants to work with us.”

Gozon said GMA 7 and the indie company IBA Media Co. Ltd. plan to air the series in Taiwan and Japan, aside from the Philippines and Korea.

“We hope to execute the plan by March 2005. We are currently looking for places in the country where we can shoot the series,” Gozon said.

He added that a tie-up with a Malaysian production company is also in the works. “We will own the rights to this tele-novela,” he pointed out. “We’re going global. We should no longer isolate ourselves; all the other countries in Asia are doing [co-prods].”

I honestly feel that this 2006, ABS will try to regain the top spot. but with proper programming ng GMA, they will find it VERY difficult. i mean, dami nagsasabi nakakaumay na raw yung mga fantasy and stuff, who cares? Im a big telefantasya fan. Kahit ulit ulitin pa ang ENCA. ok lang. Im excited about BAKEKANG.
