Overall, i'd say Powerbooks because of it's large collection and great ambiance...but the National Book Store in Katipunan is not so bad either, not that many books, but definately has great ambiance.

Alaska survived a late-game rally by Ginebra to win 104-90, leading the series at 2-0 and now one win away from the title.

I love going to Border's in "The Marketplace" in Glendale, Galleria. They have a wide selection of books and the place is soooo cozy.
whenever i have the chance to visit manila the first store i go to is powerbooks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Bibliarch specialize in coffee table type books? They're not for me... too flashy with too little content. I like buying magazines from them, though.
When I was a kid, I used to hang out in National Bookstore, but now I spend hours in Powerbooks. It has a wider selection of books, and hey, they actually provide seats and allow you to browse the book before buying! Sweet.
powerbooks megamall and why? its cool, u have space, a lot of resources, music to listen to and coffee to drink too
Going to Powerbooks or even National Bookstore is often frustrating for people like me who don't have enough money to buy those good books they have. I'd have to endorse Booksale outlets because they're cool in a Forrest Gump kind of way: you never know what you're gonna get. It's very rewarding when you find a truly good book at an absurdly low price among those stacks of secondhand romance novels and cheap thrillers. Where else can you get books by Kurt Vonnegut, Woody Allen, Albert Camus, Ernest Hemingway, J.D. Salinger, F.Scott Fitzgerald, and many others for less than fifty pesos. Sometimes, even less than twenty bucks.
Powerbooks on Pasay Road is a good refuge from the maddening crowd.
I used to frequent Booksale too, when I lived on a measly school allowance. But it's like looking for a needle in a haystack - and you don't even know if there IS a needle!
barnes & noble
powerbooks (megamall or pasay road)
pag-online naman, amazon.com
Is there any chance that there will be a Barnes and Noble branch here in manila? How i wish!!
I like everything in Powerbooks Alabang except for the price. If you're looking for cheap ones... National Bookstore of course.
The original Strand Book Store in NYC is a bargain hunter's dream come true; it boasts of 8 miles of books. Barnes & Noble across from the Lincoln Center, also in NYC, is open until midnight. In Metro Manila, Powerbooks and The Filipino Bookstore are not bad.

Borders, Barnes and Nobles, Power Books
Definitely Powerbooks on Arnaiz (why do they call Pasay Road Arnaiz anyway?). The Megamall branch is okay, but more often than not it's too crowded and there's nowhere to sit. Powerbooks Makati has a good selection and it's quiet enough to read in.
Surprisingly enough, I've found that Goodwill Bookstore has the best selection of Photography books (instructional and compilational). But since they're always wrapped in plastic, it's a good idea to know what titles you're looking for ahead of time.
National Book Store!! laking NBS ako, which is why they do give me a courtesy card na... sawang sawa sa mukha ko 8)
san yung Barnes...?
mas maganda naman ang National Bookstore, pa sosi lang yung iba? admit it guys?
powerbooks pa rin!!! my marxist professor once remarked that national bookstore is not really a bookstore in that it sells capitalistic and consumer-oriented books.
pero para sa'kin sana mas marami pang bookstores like powerbooks that offer lots of hard-to-find books - especially literary books.![]()
I've heard Borders is putting up a shop in the now-being renovated area of Greenbelt.
Anyone here knows about Popular Bookstore on Timog, QC? It's an independent bookstore where one can find rare to find books, especially non-fiction titles. I guess you guys check it out.
for cheap second-hand books, i prefer manong's bookstore sa may AS walk, up diliman. pwede pang humingi ng discount. books are neatly arranged by genre.
i think the books in fullybooked are overpriced, but i have come to love this bookstore.
first, very accommodating ang staff. i talk to a guy named "darwin" and he answers all my book inquiries
second, you can request for books that are not in their stores for NO extra charge! i'm now waiting for my ryu murakami books.
third, ambiance is perfect!
fourth, it's the first bookstore to sell 1Q84!![]()
