I got published, July '96. I was a junior in HS and it was such a thrill But when I look back, I realize how juvenile and naive my article was. Haha...it was about how we shouldn't bother about taking care of Earth kasi it could take of itself. I was saying na if we were to take of our planet, it should be because our survival as humans depends on it. I was heavy into Michael Crichton then...so sue me

Everyone should try. And try. It's one of those rare things where you can write and the people who read you can really benefit from your writing. I think you can just mail or email your submissions. Just gotta try. Who dares wins, right?

Wow! That's prolific. I think you have to run after your check, like, in the three months after your article runs or the check gets stale, right?

Not exactly. I'm not sure now if it's three months or six months--but it's three or six months from the date on the check--not the date of your article's publication. You should call them to know if your check's there, because if it's not, there's no hurry. If it's there, then the clock's ticking.

the great thing about Youngblood is that you get to feel today's youth psyche - no matter how poignant or irreverent. i remember one Youngblood contribution from an Ateneo coed. It was all about the joy of eating out in a "cheap" restaurant. Nothing wrong with that, except that while trying to make her point she just couldn't resist reciting a litany of designer brands, gourmet restaurants, trips abroad and her daddy's brand new BMW. And supposedly the cheapo restaurant she and her family goes to serves drinks in recycled jars (!!!??!?!) and yet from that very same restaurant they ate lobsters thermidor!!!

I'm sure the girl had a genuinely enlightening experience. But admittedly, I just found the article funny. Sorry....
