Talking I must admit... I still read YOUNG ADULT/JUVENILE books [Merged]

I do! Actually, i have this grand collection of LOVE STORIES (I'm not so much of an SVU or SVH fan) and the two best books for me are:

    HOT SUMMER NIGHTS
    AT FIRST SIGHT

As for the now-retro Sweet Dreams Collection... I just love WRONG-WAY ROMANCE!!!! Whoooopeee!!

Hey, ako rin! I actually read mostly young adult books - SVU, Crosswinds, Sweet Dreams, Christopher Pike, RL Stine, VC Andrews...

I hate those really thick romance novels...

I like reading young adult books. Not those Sweet Valley stuff though. I like Judy Blume, Sue Townsend, etc. Even some unknown who make those funny and weird young adult books. Aliw!

    ahihihi akow rin....

Actually, when I was in my highschool, I was a big fan of these books, from SVH to Fear Street. My favorites were those by Ellen Conford, Lurlene McDaniel and Cherie Bennett.

But since I'm going to college, I think I had enough of those

    CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE books?

I'm trying to complete the whole set.

email me at jmcarmona@lycos.com if you are
willing to give/sell me your copies that I may not have.

    Thanks!

    Guilty as well!

Some faves of mine are the Witches series (Melinda the White Witch) by Maragret Storey, a little bit of Enid Blyton and whoever did the Five Little Peppers stories.

Also...well, this is childish, but...I'm still tickled pink by Paddington Bear stories.

I've picked up the Harry Potter 1st volume and it's cute too. Though it doesn't really hold a candle to true fantasy novels.

    Thumbs up

I admit I still read books by Madeleine L'Engle (of A Wrinkle in Time fame) and the Harry Potter books. I heard that writers must first perfect their craft by writing adult novels before attempting to write books for children/the youth. Something about the young's ability and willingness to explore new worlds, etc. etc. and that they are very discriminate/discerning readers.

i read the Hardy Boys to make myself sleepy. it's not really a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat (or else I won't feel sleepy) but its entertaining enough for me and does not require analysis or reading some sentences over and over again to get the meaning. it's just plain fun.

Yup, I still love to read young adult books. My favorites are:

    Charlotte's Web- E.B. White
    Number the Stars- Lois Lowry
The Watsons Go to Birmingham- Christopher Curtis
and of course, the Sweet Valley Junior High series But only until Jessica and the boy gets together. After that, the series kind of fell apart.
