for those wondering, jensen and jared will continue to be seen on STUDIO 23 this 2006.

and to comment on the earlier discussion, ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX are full webs, programming 21 hours of primetime a week, 7 days a week. UPN and WB are the weblets as they only program 6 days and average only 2-hours of primetime a night. because WB and UPN are largely composed of affiliates like the Tribune group for WB [that's where Cher Calvin works in LA as an anchor], they don't have full national distribution so they effectively reach only 70% of the nation as opposed to nearly 100% for the other networks. so the ratings you see are not apples to apples comparisson. also, WB and UPN are focussed on the more advertiser friendly demographics so they may not have the highest total viewers ratings but are actually higher than some of the other shows in terms of that core demo. and when you compare their 70% national penetration to the others 100%, thats a decent rating. whether a show continues or not depends on the night its on, the target potential, competition, how the network has performed in that slot before, etc.

and the ratings of WB are higher than 5 million. some shows go as high as 7-9 million such as 7TH HEAVEN. GHOST WHISPERER averages 11 million on CBS and was already renewed because that's the best CBS has performed in that slot in years. OUT OF PRACTICE at 13 million and is still on the bubble means its losing a lot of its lead out numbers and is weakening the night overall for the network. numbers are relative, not absolute. there is a context to how they are read.

it doesn't follow that it will work if it moves to a new night. its a whole issue of audience flow and program compatibility. here's another interesting look at how the numbers perform. note how the numbers change relative to demographics. and considering that WB and UPN only have 70% or so clearance, their numbers are impressive. another way of looking at it is how is the network doing on the night. if they have been historically weak and these numbers are an improvement, that's enough reason to extend the show or pick up additional episodes.

CBS cruised to another Thursday victory in key young-adult demos this week, with "Survivor," "CSI" and "Without A Trace" each winning their hours, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen.

At 8, "Survivor: Guatemala" (6.4 rating/18 share in adults 18-49, 17.6 million viewers overall) was up slightly vs. last week, easily winning the hour over NBC's second-place comedies "Joey" (2.8/8 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) and "Will & Grace" (3.4/9 in 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall).

ABC's "Alias" continues to do little in the hour (2.2/6 in 18-49, 7 million viewers overall), falling behind the WB's "Smallville" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) in key demos. UPN's "Everybody Hates Chris" was back on the upswing (2.5/7 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall), posting the best scores since its premiere and pulling within 1 share of "Joey" in 18-49.

At 9, "CSI" (9.6/24 in 18-49, 27.4 million viewers overall) remained Thursday's No. 1 show, more than doubling NBC's second-place "The Apprentice 4" (4.6/12 in 18-49, 10.2 million viewers overall), which tumbled 40% behind its score on the fourth Thursday of last season. ABC's "Nightstalker" ran fourth (2/5 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall) but was up slightly over last year's "Life as We Know It."

"Without a Trace" (6.7/18 in 18-49, 20.6 million viewers overall) was up a little vs. last year, winning the hour in 18-49 for a second straight week over NBC's "ER" (6.1/16 in 18-49, 13.5 million viewers overall), which fell 26% behind last year's delivery. ABC's "Primetime" (1.6/4 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) continues to have big problems, finishing fourth (behind the dramas as well as baseball on Fox).

Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: CBS, 7.6/20; NBC, 4.6/12; Fox, 2.7/7; WB, 2.1/5; ABC, 2/5; UPN, 1.8/5.

In total viewers: CBS, 21.8 million; NBC, 10.5 million; Fox, 8.7 million; ABC, 5.6 million; WB, 5 million; UPN, 4.2 million.

wasn't able to watch last night's ep, but am posting about last week's ep! loved it. i love missouri (is that how she spells her name?)!!

medyo na-cornyhan lang ako sa appearance ng mom nila. i dunno... it kind of took away the creep factor of the episode.

this one ranks 2nd best epi on my list (the first one being the pilot, of course).

naku, hindi ko napanood yung episode last week! this week's eppy (the mental asylum one) wasn't all that interesting. notable lang yung scene na papatayin na dapat ni Sam si Dean kaso alang bala yung baril.
