Diablo II: Necromancer vs. Sorceress

which character class do you think has more advantage over the other in skills, gameplay and coolness?

I think it's the sorceress... agree? or disagree????

hehehe, actually i think it depends on which character is better equipped and developed... and of course the skill of the player.

whoa!!!no doubt about it ...sorceress is the undisputed best character in diablo2...although necro is very nice with bone spirit and revive( da best)

have u tried sorcy..obviously with frozen orb and firewall..those skeletons, mages, golems, are wiped out in an instant

Hmmm... If Sorceress casts Meteor at spell level 20, that would deal at least 300 damage. But if the meteor hits the Necro's Fire Golem at spell level 20, well…

The Sorceress has some very cool defensive powers: lightning storm, meteor, etc... The necromancer requires corpses for revive or summon, but is equally defensive with his golems.

Hmmm... Why not think of a scenario?
<LI>If necro casts bone wall/prison + iron maiden + bone spear. The sorceress can be trapped within the bones and be damaged if she attacks the bones. The bone spear is effective in the sense it deals good damage. Make the bone wall/prison so thick there's no room to teleport to.

<LI>On the other hand, if sorceress casts a freezing spell (ice) + meteor + lightning storm.

no offense man.. pero alam mo bang merong summon resist ang necro?... as in he can make all his summoned minions have maximum resistance to elements... ang pagkakaalam ko .... meron den ang sorcy.... kaso .. ala syang para sa poison..... ha!.. and i belv that only necro has poison skills....

I guess the biggest asset of the sorcy would be cold mastery. Even if the necro increases the resistance of his minions, it wont mean anything if the sorcy has a high level of cold mastery. Top that off with frozen orb, static, blizzard, and good use of teleport and you'll have a sorcy that's hard to beat.

Well, I haven't personally tried a necro, but in PvP I think a high-level sorc would win over a necro of equal level - cast several hydras, then teleport away (at least a couple of screens) - the necro's minions may have elemental resistance, but the necro himself does not. By the time the necro and his army catches up, the sorc's mana will have recharged. Repeat until the necro is well done.

Granted, most sorc's don't put too many points in hydra, but I do - it has served me pretty well in Hell, where it acts as an early warning device when it shoots fireballs to enemies off the screen. Glacial spike or blizzard to slow them down, and then teleport to get breathing room.

regarding the bone wall/prison/iron maiden/bs combo's ..no offense again but the sorcy can freely teleport anywhere and casting too much bone walls will drain ur mana....iron maiden? doesn't the sorcy attack with spells n not with weapons?
sa poison naman...what if the sorcy have reduce 75% plus 25% poison length?
da best lang **** sa sorcy is cold mastery becuase..well...it lowers your cold resistance...
right Spec?

Anyway, tama ka dyan sa cold mastery ng sorcy. Mine's at level 14 and it deducts 77 from enemies' cold resistance. So kahit naka max resistance to cold *** (max = 75), nagiging negative pa rin resistance to cold everytime tinatamaan *** ng cold spells. Of course, when you have negative resistance, the damage is amplified greatly, giving the sorcy a HUGE advantage... not to mention cold spells slow down targets.

You're also right about bone prison and iron golem. It's too easy to teleport out of bone prisons, so walang kwenta yan laban sa sorcy. And i think it's impossible to fill the screen with bone walls/prisons. As for the iron golem, pranz is right... no sorcy in her right mind would attack with a melee weapon.

ummm... i think it would be the bone spirit ....with lvl 20..baka may chance yng necro because homing siya n teleport na *** ang sorcy..it will drain her mana...it will come to a point it will hit her

Actually, if you check the battle.net ladder rankings, puro Barbs and Necros ang nag do-dominate. No sorcys are in the top 3 Pero since yung corpse explosion saka whirlwind ay pinahina sa patch 1.03 (inamin ng blizzard na unbalanced nga ang mga skills na to) ... i think magkakaroon na ng sorcy sa top 3 (i hope!)

the only thing i can think of na magagamit ng necro effectively against the sorc would be curses. Once na curse nya ang sorcy, madali na lang tong patayin kasi most sorcs have low life and defense. Pero I haven't really played necro, (i have a lvl 2 necro named Elroy pero di ko naman nilalaro) i can't really recommend a sure-fire tactic against sorcs... though i think cursing will work.

umm... isa lang masasabi ko... i played with a necromancer on a multiplayer game tapos he always dies in the flayer jungle.... hmmm.... while my sorcy wasnt even heavily damaged... bone spear vs glacial spike?? well... i DONT think so.... challenge ko kahit sinong necro... wala yan compared to sorceress

Cold Mastery.. lowers resistance to cold? tama ba?

Lower Resist na curse ata lahat ng elemental attacks eh.. kasama pa dun poison... hmmmm.. alin kaya mas malakas?

....... hmmm one on one... no doubt about it... sorceress will win... why? because it one on one.... necro uses minions to win... he uses his minions to attract the attack of his enemies while he take bone spear shots!!!
