the dip is something to be remembered.
i tried it because i had a classmate in one of my subjects who was into rowing, she invited me. so i gave it a try. i had to stop when school started getting really hectic. since training was at around 5:30am. i didn't get enough sleep.
i remember a friend of mine once told me na pinatalon daw sila sa manila bay...ang baho daw dahil puro grasa yung water.

I WAS LUCKY TO BE PART OF THE I-LAN DRAGON BOAT TEAM IN TAIWAN LAST '96.. I'M THE ONLY FILIPINO WHO JOIN THE COMPETITION(SO FAR), I WAS RECRUIT THRU MY COUSIN'S FRIEND(TAIWANESE) WHOM I ALSO PLAYED BASKETBALL DURING WEEKEND.. SINCE THEY LIKE MY HEIGHT AND BUILT, THEY ASKED MY DAD TO CONVINCED ME TO JOIN THEIR TEAM.. GRABE, ALAGANG-ALAGA TALAGA KAMI NUNG MANAGEMENT.. LAHAT NG BASIC NEEDS NAMIN PROVIDED NILA.. VERY SUPPORTIVE DIN YUNG COACH AT PATI YUNG MGA KASAMA KONG TAIWANESE.. ABOUT THE TRAINING: 4:00 WAKE-UP CALL KO, 4:20 ASSEMBLY SA TRAINING GROUND, 4:30 EXERCISE/STRETCHING 4:35 JOGGING(KAILANGAN WALANG MAIIWAN), 4:55-5 AM SHORT EXERCISE SA BOAT, THEN WITH PADEL. TAPOS AN HOUR OF FULL POWER NA PRACTICE (TALAGANG NAKAKAPAGOD AT NAKAKANGAWIT). THEN, BREAKFAST NA (HEAVY MEAL W/ VITAMINS PA) . DAILY YUN FOR A MONTH AND A HALF.. EVERY M-W-F WEIGHTS SESSION AT 7:00-9:00 PM.. KASAMA KAMI SA TOP 3 KAYA LUMABAN KAMI FOR INT'L COMPETITION.. I MET THE PHIL. TEAM NGA EH, AND THEYRE SURPRISE TO SEE ME THERE IN TAIPEI.. WE HAVE A SOUVENIR PICS WITH THE WHOLE PHIL. TEAM TOGETHER.. THAT'S KINDA RARE EXPERIENCE IN TAIWAN BEFORE..
Some of my teammates wanted me to join (swimmers converted to rowers) the rowing team back at school, but I really hate salt water (what more water sa Manila bay?) So I declined. And yeah they throw you sa Manila bay if you're a newbie.
