Hey there! I've long been wondering if there are actually people of my age (20's) who still play classical music in the piano. or at least appreicates listening to classic pieces of chopin, mozart, etc.

I'd love to get to know you peeps, so i could ask for some tips and advices coz i'll be having a big time piano recital.

Wow big time piano recital? *sigh* Kakainggit naman! Anyway, I used to study piano formally and yes, I play classical music. I'm actually more comfortable playing classical than pop.

I do, but I love playing modern impressionist & 20th-century classical works far more than stuff from baroque & romantic periods. Try searching for pieces by these composers, you'll love em: Debussy, Satie, Bartok, Janacek, Faure, Ravel, Ibert, Stravinsky, Gershwin, and many many more.

I had piano lessons for four years back when i was in elementary. Puro classical pieces ang pinag-aaral sa amin. Beethoven, Bach, etc... but I got bored of playing classical music, di naman yan kasi ang trip kong pakinggan. After i quit my piano lessons, I played modern songs na.

classical music (per se) is not my cup of tea ;id rather play 19th-20th century music (contempo or jazz).

Where's your recital going to be?

    jenne-

What is your level in your piano lessons? May I know the piece that you're going to play.

contrary to what my name may suggest(hehe), I actually DO love to listen to classical piano music, especially La Campanella by Liszt (grabe, sobrang hirap tugtugin nito!!!). Well, I actually play some easier pieces like Für Elise by Beethoven, Arabesque by Debussy and Turkish March by Mozart, pero grabe ang dami pa palang pieces nina Mozart at Liszt na sobrang hirap!

And if you wanna play/hear soothing classical music, I suggest Chopin's music. Ganda pakinggan talaga.

I used to play before. I studied piano since I was in elementary until mag-high school na ako. And mostly rin I played classical pieces. Yun nga lang, now kulang na rin ako sa practice eh. Anyway, good luck na lang din sa recital.

I also took piano lessons a long time ago. Sayang nga since i only learn to appreciate piano now. I forgot many things already including the basics. But, i'll try to get myself in the mood to play again.
