No worries. Baby's skull are as they are, baby's skull. They will "round out" as they grow (since no one stays permanently young anyway).

There's a Boppy branded pillow you can buy from Rustan's. It's like a pillow that's hollow in the middle---like a donut. According to the package, it helps prevent flathead. Dunno how effective it is, though.

Someone gave us that Boppy Pillow as a gift. It's shaped like a donut that's been cut, like a c-shaped pillow with the two ends tapering off as they meet. You can use it to support a sitting baby, you can put the baby at the center like a nest, or the mom can use it to rest here arms on while feeding. I can't see how it can promote a rounded head since its too big to be used as a pillow for the head.

In answer to the thread question, try moving the head to the other side of the one she favors when she is sound asleep. I think you should move the head every so often while she's asleep so that she sleeps as on all sides as evenly as possible. That's what my mom-in-law does.

Where you constantly left on a lying position? I even doubt that I'm wrong since I'm currently raising a 3.5-year old, and there was even a time that my baby's skull was not as round as some would expect. But like you typed: napabayaan ka; something that me and wife try not to practice even with our hectic schedules (walang pera para kumuha ng yaya kasi hindi practical dito sa Amerika). But as my kid grows, eventually, the "flat" sides of the skull disappeared due to various sleeping positions from birth 'til present.

Boppy Pillow ts actually a brand. The one given to you is a nursing pillow...it's shaped like a 'C'. The one i saw is similar to the ones you see in massage parlors...donut shaped..but instead of your face fitting the hole, it's the back of the head that you place there.

same with my kids in their early months. eventually the shape of their heads ended up being ok. don't worry about that too much. ganyan lang talaga pag mga baby.

it is now my kids who ask me if there's something wrong with my head...

I have a "flat side" on the left side of my head. My mom, being a first-timer, didnt know what to do so I guess I had my head to one side most of the time when I was a baby. Good thing I have thick hair so it isnt noticeable.

When I had my baby naman, I had read that to prevent flat head, dapat di sya pasanayin sa isang side lang, so that's what we did. I was a bit worried in his earlier months kasi prominent talaga yung cone shape head nya. But its all round now.

i usually heard from my mom dont use pillows instead use bath towels then you should move the head every so often while she's asleep so that she sleeps as on all sides as evenly as possible.

changing your baby's head position every now and then really helps. and it also helps kung mina-massage softly yung buong area para pumantay ang ulo... got 3 kids to prove that it works and 3 cousins na di pantay mga ulo kasi napabayaan ng nanay nila.

yung pagpapadapa, di pa pwede sa mga babies yun kasi may danger of suffocation.

paluin mo ng paluin ulo nya hanggang magkapantay ang magkabilaan.

since fontanelles on head are soft, try to position to regroup or
shall I say realign scalp contour. ipa-check mo muna sayong
pediatrician. otherwise, it'll reshape by itself in few months usually.

    aihihihi!!!

My baby favored sleeping on the left side ... di tuloy pantay ulo niya now ...

He's only 4 months old so there is hope right? Minamasahe namin yunhead niya now ... Will that help?

  18. #18
first time din namin may baby ngayon.... fortunately pantay yong ulo nya... ang kinatatakutan namin baka hindi mapantay nga,,. tulad nga mga sinabi nya na posible... ang ginagawa namin.. paminsan2x nasa left side.. minsan **** sa right side... paminsan minsan din nakadapa.. at nasa tiyan namin or ng mama, nya.. ito rin ang ginagawa ng lolo, lola at auntie..pinapatulog sa tiyan nila while watching tv.. nakakatuwa nga tingnan.. sana ok lang ito..

post your comments naman based sa experience nyo..

    tnx!

Smile Perfect ulo ni baby ko

I tried using the pillow (designed for babies) ... bought it at SM ... for only 45pesos ... wasnt branded ... but the same design ... maybe even softer than the more expensive ones ... dunno if that did it ... but my baby's head's really perfect ... anyone who sees him easily notices ... didnt have to move him when he's sleeping coz he turns to both sides all by himself since he was 2 months old ... he's now 7 months old

may nabasa ako minsan na iyong sudden infant death (SID) eh dahil sa pinapatulog daw iyong infant ng nakadapa.
