Hey Sandman, ironically enough, one of my favorite comic books out there is Sandman. It's really cool, what with all the poetic verses and twisted story lines. This is Science Fiction at its finest.
I also used to read a lot of X-Men, Spiderman, Batman, and other stuff like that. I loved Lone Wolf and Cub before it got discontinued. Maybe someday I'll get back to reading comics once I can afford to buy them regularly.
The best series out there:
1. Bone
2. Astro City
3. Books of Magic
4. World's Finest
5. JLA
I also enjoy the various Star Wars comic books out (the various series put out by Dark Horse) as well as the different Marvel Knights titles - rejuvenated series on Daredevil, Black Panther, Inhumans and Punisher.
I'm not an avid collector, but I've done by darndest to collect my favorite trade paperbacks over the years:
1. All the Sandman Books
2. The Death books
3. The Dark Knight Returns
4. Star Wars: Dark Empire
They're expensive but I really love these books. I can read The Sandman over and over again, actually.

Nix,
I have to disagree with you. The Sandman is not science fiction (or even fantasy) as much as it is pseudo-mythology.
But it's great nonetheless!

As my name goes, yeah I am a Sandman freak. Comic series I also like are:
1. Watchmen
2. Dark Knight Returns
3. Kingdom Come
4. Preacher
5. World's Finest:Superman & Batman
6. JLA:Year One
hey what can i say i am a DC fan boy. But i think Kevin Smith's run in Daredevil is awesome. And Frank Miller's Sin City series are cool.
Fan boys watch out for Superman to be written by Jeph Loeb(Batman:Long Halloween) and drawn by Ed McGuiness(Deadpool). Also watch out for BAtmanark Victory, the sequel to Long Halloween by Loeb and Tim Sale

Not really a comic book fan but I like reading:
Bone
Cathy
Calvin and Hobbes
Far Side
Dilbert
Disney Comics
Sandman magpainom ka naman <;hic!>;
Sandman still tops my list. The Endless...really cool...Death rules! The comics of Vertigo are really nice to read, especially when you chance upon those really good ones.
My friend also introduced me to Astro City, which is a very nice take on the superhero bit.
On the more common side, one of the most interseting storylines now belong to Generation X. The X-Men series are kinda boring na...Wonder Woman is also good.
Among the present crop of comics out there, The Rock collects JLA, JSA, and Nightwing from DC and Avengers and Iron Man from Marvel. The Rock just read Alan Moore's classic Watchmen a couple of months ago, then followed that with his V for Vendetta. Wild and crazy stuff there. The Rock also got himself hardcover copies of Mark Waid and Alex Ross' Kingdom Come in Chicago, the asked a pal to get am autographed hardcover edition of Crisis on Infinite Earths. Both are breathtaking! Hey, can someone ask is there can be a separate forum for comic and book readers? There are a lot of us out there you know?

The Rock just added Batman: Gotham Knights to his monthly titles and it is excellent! It follows the Bat from a voyeur's perspective as he goes around Gotham with the numerous members of his "family": Nightwing, Robin, Azrael, Batgirl, Oracle, Commissioner Gordon, and Alfred. There is a suspicion that the "voyeur" whose narrative is being followed is actually the super cool villain known as Ra's Al Ghul. Devin Grayson is a great comic writer, and there is an added bonus of Batman: Black and White pages in every issue. these pages at the end of the book are written and drawn by different people monthly but they are luminarieas such as Jim Lee, John Byrne, etc.
If you smell what The Rock is cookin!![]()
I stopped collecting comic books when Neil Gaiman finished the Sandman series.
The Rock: Have you read Grant Morrison's Batman Gothic? I wasn't able to finish it, though. I think it was in 6 parts. Only got 'till the fourth, if I remember right (long time ago). Anyway, hope it's on paperback already, coz it's a great Batman story! Another one I liked is the World's Finest (Superman and Batman). Great, dark plot.
