ano bang pwedeng gawin sa bali? sabi nila di daw ganon ka-ok ang beach...

^The beach is underwhelming. It's for surfers by the way, malakas ang alon. We definitely have much better beaches here in the Philippines. Maganda ang kultura ng Bali. I enjoyed the place a lot actually. Very different and yet very similar to our own culture.

temples in bali are magnificent.. tanah lot and uluwatu both have great views of the sea.. and TravelBug is right, sobra ganda ng culture nila.. It's a a tourist spot talaga sa dami ng tourists na makikita mu! Would love to go back there someday, if time permits

this is the cheapest. personally, i have not tried this, so I wish you goodluck should you take this route. because when I went there 10 years ago . We flew directly from Singapore to Denpasar

    fly to singapore.

take a ferry from Singapore to Batam

from Batam find your way to mainland Sumatra.

choose between Pekanbaru or Jambi, I suggest you go direct to Jambi since its nearer to the Southernmost part.

Once in Pekanbaru or Jambi, take a bus going to Bakauheni.

From Bakauheni take a ferry to Merak (North point of Java).

Since you are now in Java. You can take a side trip to Jakarta, Yogya, Solo, Surabaya and Bandung.

Find your way to the southernmost part of Java, to the city of Banyuwangi.

From there you take a ferry to DENPASAR.

N.B Avoid the street vendors in Bali they are so persistent. if you are not intereted with their merchandise, always say TIDAK TERIMA KASIH . It means NO THANK YOU.
    Wow, that spells as A-D-V-E-N-T-U-R-E!

if you're not in a honeymoon, don't go here na lang. mag bora ka na lang at nandun na lahat.

  9. #89
Tanah Lot during sunset is also nice. Try to see cultural shows, and shopping in Ubud.

thank you for the info guys
i havent got around here a lot since im just alone and my friends who lives in Bali are too busy working..hehehhe

ive been to dreamland and padung padung..very nice solemn beach...i had sun bathing there topless and no one cares..hehhehe

    so many shops in kuta
and so many also try to hassle the tourist here

the place that had been bomb here before already has its monument

by the way Bali is like a big Puerto Gallera to me kaso mas sosyal, wala masyadong pokpokish girls and most of all it has a very unique culture.

hey alyssafox! just got back from bali for 5 days! super nice ang bali, and sa may kuta area din kami stay. sa may kuta square kami, which i think is one of the best locations kasi malapit sa shops, restaurants, and the beach! nag-hire kami ng driver and paid 450,000 IDR per day. we went to besakih, tanah lot, uluwatu, falls, batur volcano, and kung saan-saan pa! nag-white water rafting din sa telaja river. super saya, for only 235,000 IDR!!! highly recommended!!!

    Bali tour

we went to bali to attend a convention a few months ago. It wasnt sponsored so I had to look for the cheapes deals. I got the Mla-Jakarta via cebupacific. I booked AirAsia Jakarta to Denpasar with the hotel through their "create your own package" option via their website. We stayed at Club Bali Mirage hotel in far Tanjung benoa because although it may not be adjacent to the convention site at nusa dua, it is still near and far cheaper and it was very nice and we were quite satisfied. There was a dropout among the attendees whose room was paid for at Westin already so we ended up having 1 room at 2 different hotels. Westin was very luxurious. May free drinks anytime at the lobby pa.

2 points though, if you'll travel via cebupacific, you'll arrive after midnight and will have to wait mga 8 hours for the air asia, There is a free shuttle from the international to the domestic terminal though. Good thing we knew someone in Jakarta who gave us a room for the night and quick tour in the morning. We took the late afternoon flight to Bali.

we had no problems with the Jakarta-denpasar flight as well as the accommodation which was booked through air asia. Be careful though! We were supposed to leave Bali at 7 and arrive after 1 hour of travel and considering the time difference, we still have around 5 hours in between flights. Pero Na delay and AirAsia ng just that 5 hours! and though we complained about missing the connecting flight for Manila, it fell on deaf ears. True, madaming clauses ang nakasulat sa website re improbability of rebooking but it was clearly stated that they should provide alternatives. They had another flight which apparently was not delayed but was originally later than our flight which they could have offerred us and we could still have made the connection.

We ended up buying ticket from Mandala air. It surely spoiled an otherwise great time in Bali. Kainis talaga AirAsia!

    Oh well.

planing to go to Bali this april, but based in the comments here, baka ma-dis-appoint lang ako...my purpose in going to Bali is the beaches, if its not that nice...i have second thoughts now..please advise if i'll pushthrough with my plan in going to Bali, thanks

Piex have you been to Pangansinan specifically Alaminos area - yon kasi ang kamukha ng Bali- basta malawak ang beach tapos malakas talaga ang alon and nice sands naman but - you wont miss anything really. Sorry. Mababait naman ang mga tao and the place Hard Rock etc Kuta is nice too. But to fly 3 hours to Singapore and then another 3 hours to Denpasar? Not really worth it. I suggest watch mga shows sa Travel Asia about Bali para makita mo or check out the pictures. From the pictures at least mas makakapag decide ka. I would rather go to Boracay Shores anytime. Not really that interesting. Mas maganda pa din beaches sa atin.

thanks for the advice @jay, i guess Bali its not really that nice, so i'd rather go back to Boracay this summer, sayang ang airfare, its' about 25k....thanks again...

If you are after the beach alone, I suggest you go somewhere else hehe. I was also disappointed with their beach. Malamig pa ang tubig brrrr. Anyway, there are quite a lot of things to do in Bali like seeing cultural shows and visiting their other tourist spots. I enjoyed those a lot. I particularly loved the sunset Kecak performance at Uluwatu temple.

Back in 1997 kasi parang super sosyal pag nakarating ka ng Bali - i guess siguro kasi nabasa ko sa papers before si then Vilma Santos the actress na nagbakasyon doon tapos may free stopover and 2 nites kami sa Singapore kaya siguro pag dating sa Bali - ok this is it- but the people are really nice para kang nasa Bohol very respectful sila. Ang ganda pa ng hotel namin sa Singapore - Orchard Hotel - but that is a different thread na.

Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot

Located on a rock protruding offshore, Tanah Lot was built in the 15th century and is one of Bali's most sacred temples.
