    Hi Doc,

asking about suture granuloma or stitch granuloma as a result of circumcision? does this heal over time? i cant seem to find an answer on the web. it's quite annoying to have small "chorizo"... help. is there a way to get rid of it non-surgical? thanks!

Suture or stitch granuloma is a result of the body's reaction to the suture. This is common in sutures which are not absorbed or dissolved. In circumcision, we the sutures utilized are absorbable which dissolve in 1-2 weeks. The granuloma should diappear once the foreign substance is gone. Try applying benzalkonium chloride (cream) to make it a dry. If it persist, surgical removal is the option.

Ok. It has been almost 5 weeks and there are still small lumps. So just have to wait it out and apply the cream?

What if it does not change? The surgical option is a minor surgery? Outpatient lang po ba?

How long do we wait for it to be completely dissolved?

I suggest you have it checked. Excision of the granuloma does not take long. It is just a minor procedure.

Yours is better. The skin is there to provide some movement and friction. Don't rush to another surgery.
