    [MERGED]LASIK / Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis ( Laser Eye Surgery )

Anyone here had undergone laser eye treatment? Would my eyesight return to 20/20 again and won't wear eyeglass anymore? Are there known side effects when laser treated? How much is it to have this kind of treatment? And anybody know where or who offering such treatment.

Thanks in advance for your feedbacks.

my sister had a laser eye surgery 5 years ago at St. Luke's hospital... and from then on, she has never worn eyeglasses again... it cost her about 50,000 pesos for everything... it was 1/3 cheaper than in the US, accdg her

i think only the optometrist/opthalmologist can answer your concerns. we are just the patients.. i wanted to have one too, but am having doubts, my brother have done it 5 years ago, and so far, he's very satisfied with it. and after so many consultations, i decided not to proceed with it... why??? i asked many optometrists/opthalmologists why are they wearing glasses and didnt undergone laser eye treatment... and i was not satisfied with their reply....

they're optometrists that's why they're promoting their products and their profession. Optometrists and Ophthalmologist are different things.

Most medical professionals are aware of the risks and complications of invasive techniques, for example infections, night time glare, etc. We perform these after the patients are fully informed. For the most part, these procedures are safe. But in reality, we as medical professionals would opt for the safest treatment, i.e., eyeglassess anytime over the potential dangers of surgery. My family and I do

6 years ago, i had my eyes PRK'd ... until now, so far so good ... so it safe to assume with LASIK, it's even safer and better now ...

    [MERGED]LASIK - Laser Eye Surgery

this is no doubt a breakthrough but i read that it's not ALL good as it claimed.

sure it makes you stop looking nerd for a change and even lease you with younger looks, but there are also cases where patient condition got worsen and all that jazz...

so what are you thougths on this. is it worth it. would you take the risk which could pay off very well...that is looking 10 years younger again...

I had it done last December. The only regret I have is I didn't get it sooner. It does some little side effects but it's better than having a metal device attached to your face all the time. If you decide to get one, don't go for the cheap doctors. Either you shell out the entire P65,000 or don't do it at all.

When you ask opinions on these things, talk to someone who actually have one done - not just heresay. Ignorance beget fear.

    brilliant thirdeye! that's very encouraging....

where did u have it, and how much did it cost?

  17. #96
I've done in it 2003 and so far, so good. No bad side effect and ok pa rin hanggang ngayon. I had it done in American Eye Center sa Shangri-la, Edsa.

    to chrajsiel and thrideye...

naging 20 20 ba ulit yung vision nyo after magpalaser? plano ko din kasi magpalaser. meron bang limitations sa grado ng mata para i-laser? say 200 and above dapat ang grado nang mata?

  20. #99
    sleepmonster,
