Which gym for you: Fitness First, Gold's Gym, or Slimmers' World Why?

I'm a former member of Fitness First then bought a lifetime membership for Slimmers' World and currently working out at Gold's Gym. If I'll rate the three gyms from the scale of 1 to 10 and 10 is the highest, I'll rate Slimmers as 1 (lowest), Fitness First 5 and Gold's Gym 7 (highest). Corporate gyms like these I mentioned only think of what they can get from your pocket. As soon as your paid they smile at you and look for the next client since the management only sees you at the door when you come in. They are not athletes themselves who work alongside you in the members area.

Soon there will be a new health club and fitness center opening in Malate. When it does, I predict that these "big three" will fade away. It will focus on something these others can never understand: Service.

Depende naman iyan sa management ng Fitness First/Gold's Gym/Slimmers' World, at sa client/customer.

    here, there and
Slimmer's World.... the atmosphere there kasi is working out for working out's sake... hindi tulad sa Fitness na parang yung mga tao pumupunta lang don para sabihing nagji-gym sila.

dude depende yan sa branch and company mo. i work in abscbn and of course, corporate account kme ng fitness first-abscbn branch. so for us employees, we get a good discount. ako i only pay 1800 per month compared to 2400 payed by regular members. plus, i also did not get to pay the 5K membership dues and other extra charges. some members also get to pay only 2100 depende sa package na i-binargain sa kanila ng mga membership consultants. every branch has different membership package schemes pero the standard rate is 2400 plus 5000 membership fee and 1000 processing fee.

a few months ago, i was almost bargained by golds galleria to transfer because they're giving me the best offer of p[aying only 1K a month! unfortunately, i would be transferring na from ortigas to abscbn sa work kaya di ko kinagat. sayang... that offer was only good for that week (that was around the last week of may).

so far, based on my experience, pinaka-ok sa fitness first kse the membership applies to all branches. saka mas maraming mga group classes sa ff compared sa golds. saka i find golds gym (gale and glorietta) very crowded... dikit-dikit kse yung mga machines.

don't even think about working out in slimmers though. i tried the mega and this other branch in marcos highway and oh my god, consistent ang ipis sa locker room! kadiri...

anyway, ingat lang sa mga bading sa ff. ang lalaki ng katawan nila! katakut!

It depends on what branch you go to. Some branches have those who just go to hunt for prospective partners.

I worked out in Fitness First for almost a year and a half..then I stopped going to the gym..tried out Slimmers for few months..and decided to take their lifetime membership..Equipments are pretty much the same except that Slimmers' equipments are way older than Fitness'..Now I'm thinking..the money I spent for a year with Fitness is already good enough for Slimmers' lifetime.hehe.

  15. #55
    cost-wise: slimmers
equipment-wise: gold's or fitness first, depends upon w/c one is more convenient to you in terms of location.

besides this, it depends upon personal preferences: ambience, how serious you are in the workout, etc

well that 5k membership fee he talks about is pretty much BULL.. it's just their way to make you think you're getting in for cheap.
pretty much every members off the street don't pay that.

anyway. sa abs, they effin took elevator service from the parking lot out para sa non abs cbn employees. that's stupid..

Pag sa b3 ka na park.. that's 4 floors up ang aakyatin mo.. really now..

"i have a friend who told me na sa FITNESS FIRST e may mga nag-oorgy M2M... tsk tsk tsk d' hell"

yep... I've seen some very disturbingly gay things in the locker room myself. pag homophobic ka talaga madidiri ka. i dont even use the showers or sauna... dahil dun sila nag kukumpol.

i have this untested theory: if it's a guyy that you don't know, chances are he's gay!

oh and if nasa abs- cbn ka rin pumunta WATCH OUT FOR MANANG COOKIES. (that's what i call her). she's this kinda old lady that carries around with her and green bag. inside this bag are cookies she sells (nevermind it's not allowed).. it tastes horrible as hell.

if you see her selling to other people, DO NOT LOOK ALL CURIOUS OR WHATEVER. dahil bebentahan ka nya!
