I went to St. Luke's para magpa-check up and they said
I had high blood sugar level and then they gave me shots.
I suggest you lay off on the sweets and get a medical check-up too.![]()
If your pancreas is producing enough insulin, your sweet intake, no matter how excessive, shouldn't cause ants to get attracted to your urine. I suggest that you see an endocrinologist for workup for diabetes.
blue17![]()
i'm a juevenile diabetic and sabi nga nila pag daw nilalangan ang urine sign na sobrang mataas na blood sugar mo kaya ineexcrete na sya as waste. See a doctor asap!
Hi! im Shepot.
Can somebody tell me what is Diabetes Mellitus. I hope you guys can give me a lecture bout it. It's cause, treatment evrything bout it.
tnx.
search mo na lang sa net. Sa lecture namin kulang ang one hour to discuss the topic
You're kidding, right?
I suggest you just search the internet. The topic is very easy to find. Volumes of books have been written on this topic alone, and I'm not going to start writing another one.
ey Gio_sport, did you type that or just copy and paste? anyway you did a good job, ako nga Type 1 diabetic na pero i dnt think I can type or research that long. Goodjob again!![]()
question naman po!
yung mother in law ko po eh may Diabetes, 5 sila na magkakapatid and 3 sa kanila ang may Diabetes. So ang question
yes, your husband has the possibility of having diabetes, kasi nasa family history na...mas malakas ang genetics. he should regulary consult a doctor, especially a diabetes expert. i suggest that your husband should visit dr. antonio litonjua (clinic: makati med) --he is an expert in diabetes and currently the president of the philippine diabetes association. kapag natingnan ng maaga, mas madali ang management nito....Originally posted by Apolpay

like doc ira posted, kahit sandamakmak na chocolates or sweets ang kainin mo, di lalanggamin ang urine mo kapag wala kang diabetes. go and see a doctor now, an endocrinologist and/or a diabetes expert (diabetologist).Originally posted by einhander
Does that mean i'm diabetic na? Or its a sign na i should stop on sweets?
good luck![]()
... glucosuria yata todits...![]()
teka, may nabunot uli ako sa world wide web....

pakuha ka kaya lab test...
urine glucose spot test (dipstick), which is Urine glucose is usually measured as a "spot test" with a dipstick containing a color-sensitive pad. This pad is saturated with specific chemicals which react with glucose. The resulting color is indicative of the glucose concentration.
If a 24 hour urine sample is needed, your health care provider will instruct you, if necessary, to discontinue drugs that may interfere with the test.
On day 1, urinate into the toilet upon arising in the morning.
Collect all subsequent urine (in a special container) for the next 24 hours.
On day 2, urinate into the container in the morning upon arising.
Cap the container. Keep it in the refrigerator or a cool place during the collection period. Label the container with your name, the date, the time of completion, and return it as instructed.
Infant:
Thoroughly wash the area around the urethra. Open a urine collection bag (a plastic bag with an adhesive paper on one end), and place it on your infant. For males, the entire penis can be placed in the bag and the adhesive attached to the skin. For females, the bag is placed over the labia. Place a diaper over the infant (bag and all). The infant should be checked frequently and the bag changed after the infant has urinated into the bag. For active infants, this procedure may take a couple of attempts -- lively infants can displace the bag, causing an inability to obtain the specimen. The urine is drained into the container for transport to the laboratory.
Deliver it to the laboratory or your health care provider as soon as possible upon completion.
The health care provider should be consulted if taking any drugs that may affect test results (see special considerations).
Normal values are as follows:
Random specimen -- negative
24 hour urine collection -- less than .3g/day
Note: g/day = grams per day
What abnormal results mean
Abnormal results producing greater-than-normal levels may indicate:
Benign low renal glucose threshold (the kidneys excrete glucose in the urine at a relatively low blood glucose level)
Cushing’s syndrome
Diabetes mellitus
Severe stress (for example, trauma or surgery)
Fanconi's syndrome
pero bago ka magtest, are you taking any drugs?
from http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/e...cle/003581.htm
Drugs that may increase urine glucose measurements include: aminosalicylic acid, cephalosporins, chloral hydrate, chloramphenicol, dextrothyroxine, diazoxide, diuretics (loop and thiazides), estrogens, isoniazid, levodopa, lithium, nafcillin, nalidixic acid, and nicotinic acid (large doses).
Drugs that may give false positive results with Clinitest, but not with Clinistix or Tes-tape, include: acetylsalicylic acid, aminosalicylic acid, ascorbic acid, cephalothin, chloral hydrate, nitrofurantoin, streptomycin, and sulfonamides.
Drugs that may give false negative results are ascorbic acid (Clinistix, Tes-tape), levodopa (Clinistix), and phenothiazines (Clinistix, Tes-tape).
urinalysis, fasting blood sugar, 2 hour post-prandial/oral glucose tolerance test will be helpful...

Una ay ang: TYPE 1 diabetes--it occurs when the pancreas makes little or no insulin...itong diabetes na ito ay nade-debelop habang bata pa kaya at hanggang sa paglaki...people with this kind of diabetes type must give insuline shots to themselves evryday...
Pangalawa ay:TYPE 2---ito ay ang diabetes na itong pancreas ay hindi na kayang gumawa ng watong insulin para sa katawan ng isang tao..or when their body doesn't use the insulin properly
RISK FACTOR for TYPE 2 diabetes are:

so me possibility ako doc???
Any of the symptoms listed by the art727 may signal diabetes, however, these are not specific for DM (meaning, other diseases may cause the symptoms). The only sure way to know if you have diabetes is to undergo a laboratory workup, which includes a blood sugar check.
diabetes can be acquired (meaning you can get it from too much eating of sweets) or inherited (it's already in your genes whether you like it or not)...
kapag yung langgam sa urine mo e yung black ones, i'm very positive na you have diabetes...
as for now, if you're still young, you can still prevent it for the symptoms are not that really really bad....
i agree with the others that you should cut down on sweets including beverages....no softdrinks, artificially sweetened juices, chocolates, candies, ice cream, cakes, pastries, and other stuff mostly linked to sugar....
hope you can do it....i've done it so you might as well try
