I heard of this bill passed in Congress about ROTC being removed from the curriculum. But the sad thing is, we don't know yet when it will take effect.
Most guys in my school hate having to wake up early Saturday morning just to attend ROTC. Imagine having to bake in the sun for 5 hours? Do we really need to take this up? Speak up, guys if you are in favor or not of the removal of ROTC....thanks

NO! Absolutely unnecessary. It's just a waste of time, effort, and money.

I don't want to really think about it now since I've been through it already. But yeah, ROTC really was a waste of my time backe then.

hahaha!! alam nyo ba i wrote a paper about ROTC being useless and should be taken out. What's the use of RO diba? they teach you marching drills, rifle drills, etc.. the hell! diba ROTC is to train us to be reserve soldiers in case of a war? eh how in goodness gracious can we kill the enemy with marching drills? or even by using rifle drills (especially with a fake rifle). ROTC is totally useless. and admit it, if a war ever broke out, who would want to fight in it? and boy does our military suck! why fight a war we cant even win?

hindi siya necessary in the first place... so hindi talaga siya REALLY necessary (so much for sense when talking abt. this *&^*&%^%#$@ topic....)
    unmitim lang ako....inis!!!

I attended RO this morning...hmmp.Twas the first meeting for the term, and yes, as usual, we did NOTHING but bake in the scorching heat. I swear... Dapat kasi pati mga babae naga-RO eh. Tutal sabi naman nila they can do what we guys can do? Sige nga, mag-RO sila... tignan ko lang!

    LOL @ ascot!

i think rotc should be removed, coz it's really useless. besides, i don't see how much of a difference rotc reservists would make in case a war did break out considering how antiquated our armed forces are.

    ROTC is also:

    Ridiculous

    Outrageous

    Twisted

    Crazy

Besides, it's also a health hazard.

So the talk about the abolition of ROTC is still talk up to now?

    Whew!

    It's been almost a decade .

Way back, they were proposing to change ROTC into a community service, social-outreach kind of program (e.g. tree-planting, cleaning the metropolis, teaching skills to the less fortunate etc. etc.).

    The times haven't changed .

  12. #12
    It is totally unecessary!!!
That's why I paid for it. (hehehe)

  13. #13
dudung: Actually, community service is an alternative to ROTC in our school.. kaso lang, ayaw ng iba sumali doon kasi karamihan daw ng mga kasama mo sa CS ay mga ....

sama ba? Isa pa, I think you will also have to report to school during saturdays because of CS. So, parang pareho lang. Umm, what others do, they take up RO during summer, for a week from 7 - 5. Just like what fhunkeemonkee did. But what I know, is that they don't offer summer RO every year.

NO!!!!! *saan ba pwedeng magbayad na lang?*

I'll be as crude as I can because that's the only type of discussion that ROTC deserves.

Parang FRAT din yan, but that's for another post.

Leche!

what countries do not have rotc?
