^^ Well those divisoria luggages came from China, and you know things about this mass produced stuffs. Last year I bought a luggage from Mongkok (presumaby mainland made). It was big 3x4 feet luggage with wheels. Nung paalis nako tinawag ako nung tindero sabi sige daw, So napasubo nako. I bought the thing and the heavy stuffs that I was supposed to place in a box went in there.

Sa Chek Lap kok When I lifted the luggage with a just 35lbs of shopping contents the handle broke! tapos pagdating sa carousel sa Manila nawala na yung gulong, pagdating sa bahay natanngal na yung tahi sa gilid at totaly useless na siya. More so kung sa US ang punta mo since Im definitely sure that you will shop there like Walmart will close tomorrow

I suggest you buy local brands mas okey pa yun or better yet try american tourister. If you have relatives sa states a three peace luggage set by American Tourister cost just $49 at Wal Mart

^^^i'm insisting to buy original, kahit na made in china yung mga luggages as long they're authentic eh matibay iyon. lahat ng luggages nowadays are made in china.

if you buy your stuff in tiangge, sigurado imitation so walang tibay kang aasahan. a good tough luggage starts at usd39 (carry on), usd49 for 25" and usd59 for the 29". the price varies, the prices quoted are for the cheapest yet good quality e.g. american airlines, pacific coast. if you jump to the next level prices start at usd49/59 for carry-on.

i can vouch for DELSEY, TRAVEL PRO and PACIFIC COAST.

,parang wala akong nakita dati. Those brands are good but seems the the questioner is here in PI and those brands are hard to find and if ever pricey. Best choice for him/her would be looking out for bargains at travel club or SM

Good Luck bargain hunting ,and dont buy this Chrismas season. Or else your buying luggages on its "Christmas Prices"

Department stores like SM and Landmark carry Delsey as far as I can remember.

thanks for the inputs peeps. so whats a good local brand that someone can vouch on? i need something reliable and not that expensive. im planning to invest on a branded one later on and i'd probably buy in the US and not here - so a local brand would so at this point.

do they also have sets sold in SM/robinsons? what's the price range?

Is it recommendable?

is Delsey a local brand or US brand?

was able to drop by megamall today... saw two local brands that caught my attention... brands are VOYAGER and CONCORDE. are these reliable local brands? any first-hand experience peeps with these brands? are they good/reliable? their 32kg (70lbs) costs P2.5k each.

also saw samsonite and delsey but they're way off mu budget right now.

^ Don't buy this luggage brand. It sucks big time. It may be cheap, but the quality is really terrible.

First hand experience: While lining up at the JAL check-in counter, I opened my newly bought Concorde luggage to get something. However, I could not close the damn thing afterwards no matter what I did because the locks had become defective. I had to temporarily use my luggage straps to close this piece of crap.

It was adios to this bag as soon as I arrived in SFO.

    Delsey is an international brand.

Yung nabili ko sa eBay, brand new yun, costs less than 3k. Magaan sha kahit punong-puno, plus madali imaneuver yung gulong, so kahit hila-hila ko yung 29" saka yung 25" magkabilaan, ok lang.

Gamit namin dati local brand, nadurog yung gulong pagdating namin dito.

Invest in a good brand at least kahit mahal matagal mo naman magagamit. Well-known brands usually offer at least a 1 yr worldwide warranty on repairs and replacements (provided you keep the receipt). Di pa sasakit ulo mo, sa sirang zipper, nadudurog na gulong, at nagka-crack na supposedly hard plastic shell, at napupunit na canvas (which happened to my brother on his flight to KL; kaya ayun nakabalot ng duct tape).

Pero just to be safe, lagyan mo na din.

gerbil - which local brand are you referring to?

Agree with Delsey . Try din Echolac and Samsonite if my budget. I also had a bad experience with Concorde. Nagsag or lumutos yung ilalim so dagdag pahirap paglililahin *** lalo na sa carpetted floors ng hotels. Grabe lalo bumigat yung luggage, may tamang angulo dapat yung paghatak. Hindi pa natapos dun... gumewang pa yung gulong

last year my workmate bought a concorde brand luggage.. the design was nice actually but...... now he has to buy a new luggage again.. d sya matibay parang disposable when u used it once... hala

  16. #76
ok Concorde is off my list. how about VOYAGER brand?

  17. #77
    My personal choices:

    Budget
    ECHOLAC

    Moderate
    SAMSONITE
    VICTORINOX

    Expensive
    TUMI
    VICTORINOX TOURBACH

Chiefpaul : since you are going to invest later on the branded luggage.. I suggest you talk to the salesperson at SM or Landmark (sale sa landmark) I am sure they will recommend a good brand within your budget and tell them na rin ang mga feedbacks na na gather mo. I am sure they will help you.

    Delsey is from France.

My Delsey is more durable than my Samsonite.

For me Samsonite or American Tourister. The last time I traveled I used 2 Samsonite duffel bags and they held up nicely.
