    :::.. Download Stats ..:::
    Connection is:: 1088 Kbps about 1.1 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)
    Download Speed is:: 133 kB/s
    Tested From:: http://testmy.net/ (main)
    Test Time:: Sat May 14 2005 20:17:14 GMT+0800
    Bottom Line:: 19X faster than 56K 1MB download in 7.7 sec
    Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 119.35 % faster than the average for host (181.114)
    Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-CYTOZK3BW

    i tested that in http://testmy.net.

    my downloads doesn't lie.in fact,i'm still subscribed with Globe Broadband until the end of the month(contract ends by then),and i don't use it because i only get 384kbps for 1995 while meridian is averaging now for me 1.2MEGABYTES(or bits,whatever)
    BASTA with meridian i download a gigabyte sized file a lot faster than when i'm with Globe and for a lot less than it's price,that's the bottomline.

    no you can't connect directly experts say(and of course,meridian says that too ).unless your neighbor networks his connection through a linksys or something.meaning you can connect to your neighbor through a device WITH HIS PERMISSION,much like with regular dsl with the use of a router(or whatever) but you can't just get meridian like a tv signal.
    maybe your referring to wifi.it doesn't work that way.

    Meridian called me up on my cellphone today and instead of the 21st that I requested it to install, they will install it this coming Monday. I will have my bayantel DSL disconnected for this, buti na lang wala akong contract sa Bayantel.

    taga san ka sa sucat? ako dito ako sa vitalez compound and talagang katapat ng bahay namin ang smart cell site as in visible talaga...hehehe...mga 100m or more pa yung layo nung cell site nila sa bahay namin...nung nakaraang araw umulan kumidlat pa, anong naranasan mo sa connection mo? and mas mabilis ba yan sa destiny cable internet?

    di po me from sucat.i'm from marikina.pag tapat mo lang ang cellsite,gosh,baka 2MBPS speed mo,hihi,kc me mga 500 meters layo sa isang smart cellsite,1.2mbps pa rin!

    malakas din ulan dito samin,with thunder and lightning pa,ilang beses na for the past few days,walang effect whatsoever sa speed.sa mga trees,buildings,etc and anything that blocks the line of sight lang yata magkakaproblema sa connection,di sa weather,unless matumba yung antenna mo.

    cool...ang bilis ah! mura pa ! im paying bayantel P1600 for 256kpbs plan..im sure this will pull down the price of broadband. good!

    =) more feedback naman

    1. reliability? wala bang madalas na downtime?

    2. ano ba technology na gamit nila? WiMax na ba? un 802.16? ano mga devices iinstall nila?

    3. ok ba support nila....

    salamat

    The technology isn't distance sensitive. The reason its incredibly fast in some areas (WAY beyond 288kbps, which is the package that you probably have) is that meridian's probably testing the service.. how fast it can go in some sectors/grids etc.. or the capacity of the base stations.

    what a bummer from an employee pa ata.gusto mo bang makaakit ng customers or gusto mong walang magsubscribe?tanong ko lang?

  16. #56
    i'd rather if people tell me the truth. don't you?

  17. #57
    Its not about me being in meridian or having friends there.

    I'm simply stating that fixed wireless technology simply isn't distance sensitive. It's actually an advantage over DSL because you don't need to be close to the base station in order to have a stable connection. As long as there's a signal then you can get connected - whether you're 10 meters away or 1.5Km away.

    ok.very well said.
    but where is the enthusiasm from an employee.saka in actuality,i still get 1.2mbps and i'm thankful to meridian,no hassles at al l.

  19. #59
    employee? who?

    i just happen to be in the same industry.

    Besides, i don't think they want to over-promise the service and be in over their heads when it comes to client expectations. I'm glad you're happy with the connection. I wish I could avail of it but sadly, my house isn't feasible yet.

  20. #60
    ako I'm a meridian subscriber almost a year na rin. aside from my SU resetting itself everytime I dismantle my PC for cleaning and having their technical team come to my house each time(happened 3 times already just this year), the connection is quite ok.

    Minsan I have to call them telling them intermittent *** signal, but after a few minutes (minsan hours) ok na sya ulit. I have a clean Line of sight pa nyan ha. Not that I resent having meridian connection pero this is the only feasible connection dito sa lugar namin as of this time. I haven't had the chance to use any DSL providers.

    I should say I'm happy with meridian pero they are still lacking on some parts of their service. Sana they can provide a more stable SU next time.
