    Wanna Lose Weight! Verry Desperate!!!

hi! im 5'4.. 136 lbs... and it seems that whatever i do, i can't lose weight.. i've read many things already and i've already asked my parents about it and the only thing that they say is that "bata ka pa"... i really wanna lose weight... i've tried many things like calorie counting.... *****... eto ang diet ko.. only 800 cals per day then salad lunch dinner and midnyt snack... nung first 2 weeks, i've lost 4 lbs pero bat biglang nagstop??

tapos magbobora pa kami sa may6, and **** ko nmn sana to lose weight for that.. ang goal ko lang sana eh maging 132lbs by that time.. or losing 1 lb per 2 days.. need help po talaga!!!

    thnx in advance!!!

read on negative calorie diet. its none-depriving. it just tells u the specific food u should concentrate on.. proper breathing (to maximize oxygen) and tells u about physical activity (15 minute exercises). dont count on miracle diets.. those that will require u to starve yourself. u also have to move about..

    5'4 at 136 lbs isn't even fat...
exercising with a more cardio workout should help a lot...

    had the same problem before...

But what I did was go on a "modified" Atkins diet... went on zero-very low carb intake (no bread, rice, sweets, even fruits), ate lots of protein, and controlled fat intake. I also EXERCISED -- cardio, taebo-- religiously everyday. The key is diet AND exercise. I don't think anyone can go through it with diet alone. It's a sad myth.

I was able to lose 40 lbs in 3 months then and maintained it for a year but now I lost a total of 50 lbs after some more diet-exercise.

ok... um... kc biago ko yung diet and its like this:

breakfast-no breakfast cuz i wake up at 12:00-3:00pm
lunch- 1/2 cup rice and any ulam (450 cal.)
mid-day snack- 1 glass of slim milk (100 cal.)
dinner- chicken beast salad (192 cal.)
midnyt snack- um.. it depends but its mostly ulam w/o any carbs..(300 cal.)

its roughly about 1100 cal. is that bad?? oww.. and i also exercise everyday.. treadmill until i reach 100-200 cal burnt...

and tom, i'm gonna try tae-boxing(is that the same with taebo?) and i also bought a vcd that's teaching belly dancing... which would help me slim down faster??

if you're not physically active for most of the day (e.g. you have an office job), you'll need to burn more than 200 calories @ the gym...try 350-450. In addition, include strength training as part of your exercise program to build muscle mass which helps burn fat (especially, when at rest).

With calorie counting, reduce your sweets, fats, and simple carbs intake.

Remember, you have to create a 3500 calorie deficit for each pound you want to lose.

u have to burn more calories more than what you consume.

as for me I didn't count calories really. I just ate small meals throughout the day, and didn't starve myself, so as not to slow down my metabolism. It would help if you can be active throughout the day -- not only when you do your treadmill.

  9. #9
calorie-counting alone won't make you lose a considerable amount of weight unless you add exercise to your lifestyle. Soulthird is right about burning more calories that what you are consuming.

Try portion control. Instead of eating a whole bar of chocolate why not share it with a sibling or a friend? You will be satisfying your urge and at the same time had cut your calorie intake. And try to drink lots of water.

your 1100 calories a day is bad unless you are under doctor's supervision. Dagdagan mo naman ng konti yung kinakain mo. Also try waking up early rather than waking up in the noon if you can. One reason is you could eat breakfast. Eating breakfast jump starts our metabolism for the day which in turn can result to burning a lot more calories than not eating one. Imagine your body starts burning up calories at about 8 am rather than starting at 12pm.

    you're not concern
    - regular exercise such as walking 20 minutes, 3x a week.
    - scrap out sweetened drinks
    - sleep on time (no puyat and no oversleeping)
    - sip small amounts of water throughout the day - will lessen your hunger pangs and increase metabolism by 3%
    - scrap out junkfoods (cookies, breads, pastries)
    - nibble on healthier snacks if ur really hungry

I lost weight without intending to lose weight bec i innately got into this habit. Might work on u. siguro i lost a total of 3lbs in two weeks or less. now i even have to eat MORE bec i dont wanna lose so much - so i could have lost more than 3lbs.

if you're a guy at that weight and height, I'd probably wanna add 5 more lbs of muscle.

IF you wanna lose weight, starving yourself would do more harm than good. Slowly decreasing calories would be the better way to go.
As the physically weak man can make himself strong by careful and patient training, so the man of weak thoughts can make them strong by exercising himself in right thinking.

Tanong lang po... effective kaya yung ginagawa kong NO rice NO bread at NO breakfast diet? Sabi ng bro ko magiging anorexic daw ako pag tinuloy ko yun... gusto ko lang maka-loose eh... kasi naman, at 16 yrs old eh 105 lbs na ako...

create a healthy diet that you know you'll be able to stick with for a long time. otherwise, you might gain back the weight that you've lost once you get off the diet. And a healthy diet starts with having breakfast...which helps improve your metabolism.

About the NO rice, NO bread thing....not all carbs are bad. When eating rice or bread, opt for brown rice and whole wheat/multigrain bread instead of white. Ummm...and don't forget to exercise.

panget talaga pag mataba. ano bang size ng waist mo?

I tried the NO rice NO bread diet and I'm still on it. But I do it in cycle... there are a few months that I eat rice sparingly, then I shift to my NO rice diet again. I have maintained my weight since. But I did it because I put on too much weight from my childhood... hehe. But lost it all now.

At 106 lbs / 16 years old, it's no cause for alarm, I don't think you have to resort to that. Just choose the foods you eat -- iwas junk food (burgers, softdrinks) -- just eat healthy -- fruits, fibrous foods, veggies, a good amount of protein and control the fat you eat. Plus exercise. That's more sensible and can be maintained in the long run without having to deprive yourself.

u still have to include some carbohydrate or else ur sytem will collapse. u need a lil carbo to keep fat burning going on. u can probably eat complex carbs. that will also depend on ur health status. like if u're hypoglycemic to start w, you probably cannot avoid carbo all together. if ur feeling weak w ur diet, then it's most probably doing u a lot of harm and no good. a good diet that will keep u losing weight will be one which will make u feel as energetic or even more.

bwt, u said u are just 16? u still have a long way to go to develop. some girls mature til they are 20. i saw some more changes in my friend til she was 23. she got her boobs when she was 22. u grow ur wisom tooth til your 18? so i guess it's not good to create energy deficits for a long period of time if u're still on the developing stage of ur life. i suggest that u take off snacks. chose the quality of carbs u eat, avoid sweet drinks altogether. avoid chocolates, rather than reduce the amount if you're taking resonable quantities. do some LIGHT EXERCISE. what's impt is that u feel great.

Eat breakfast. It would help you lose weight than not eating one.

About the NO rice and NO bread thing, you can still eat your carbs without gaining weight by adjusting the amount. Your body still needs carbs to keep itself up and running.
