What is your basis for this ? It seems that it is not entirely correct.

Let me point out certain discrepancies.

    1. Ateneo De Manila University - For one, there are only 2 board exam related courses in ADMU before 2000. These are Chemistry and Teachers exams. Recently they introducted ECE. ADMU did pretty good in Chemistry and Teachers board examination. And lately, there are doing excellent in ECE board exam too. However, to be number 4 in your list and better than UST and SLU is WRONG. UST and SLU have more board exam related courses than Ateneo.

    2. De La Salle University in not in your list ?? Although like Ateneo, La Salle has limited courses with board examinations. There are only 8 courses in DLSU Manila that have board examinations. How did they fare in the board examinations ? Quite well.

    3. As to the sheer number of board examinations that schools offer, the following schools are the top 3 in terms of the number of board examinations where they excelled

    1) UP Diliman and Manila
    2. ) UST
    3.) St Louis University .

If you are talking of the number of COE/COD as compiled by CHED.

    The top schools are :

    1. UP
    2. UST
    3. La Salle
    4. Ateneo

My basis is detailed below and is supported by facts. I will also give you the site where you can verify the data for yourself.

I am going to post the following:

    1. Number of COD/COE by CHED Philippines.

    2. Count of how many times a school landed in the top 10 in terms of % passing in each board examination over the period years specified.

    Let me begin:

    I. Number of COE/CODs

Okay you might not been convince since you said that you have rank the schools based on the number of board exams where a school excel and not board related.

Dont worry I will also gvie you that data. I gave you the data above because you mentioned CHED and CHED has evaluated courses in different schools and have made some schools COE/COD in that particular course.

HERE IS THE ANSWER TO RANKING BASED ON BOARD EXAMINATIONS.

Number of board examinations wherE schools excelled:

    The format would be :

    1. list the top 10 schools per board examination and their % of passing.
    2. count of number of occurances per school
    3. rank them accordingly.

for those of you who have violent reactions, please re-read again the post. it says "top 10 schools based on the average passing in the BOARD EXAMINATIONS OF ALL COURSES of all universities and colleges in the Philippines" as compiled by the prc and ched. kung hindi napasama yung school ninyo sa list, rest assured hindi lang naman ito ang benchmark ng isang outstanding school. so don't fret.

THIS WAS THE SAME LIST THAT WAS PUBLISHED IN THE MANILA BULETIN IN 2001.

HONESTLY, THIS NOT PROVE ANYTHING SINCE SOME SCHOOLS HAVE MORE AND SOME HAVE LESS COURSES WITH BOARD EXAMINATION. OF COURSE UP AND UST WILL BE NUMBER 1 AND 2 SINCE THESE 2 UNIVERSITIES HAVE ALL OF THESE COURSES SINCE MANY YEARS AGO.

If that's the case, then the original ranking as shown in the first post of this thread (and as quoted below) is a more reliable ranking since it's based on the average passing performance of the schools in the Board exams. The ranking does not penalize those schools with fewer Board exams, and it also does not benefit those schools with more Board exams since the ranking is based on the average passing performance of the schools in the Board exams. In order for a school to rank high, they have to perform well, on average, in the Board exams, which explains why DLSU is not in the Top 10. DLSU's performance is erratic; it does well in some and poorly in others. Ateneo, on the other hand, has fewer Board exams but it does consistently well.

So ngayon penalized naman ang maraming courses. Ay naku bro..... sige pagbibgyan kita post ko dito ang average of all courses. THe results is significantly nothing similar to the original post.

^ ^ Siyempre, we should also factor in "average passing rate year-over-year"(i.e., consistency over time) and base the ranking on that as well as other qualitative factors. It's the latter that's difficult to determine, but I'm willing to give CHED the benefit of the doubt as far as the ranking in the first post of this thread is concerned.

This official top 10 list from the CHED is more credible:

    1. University of the Philippines (Diliman
    Campus /
    Luzon)

    2. Silliman University (Dumaguete City /
    Visayas)

    3. Ateneo de Davao University (Davao /
    Mindanao)

    4. Ateneo de Manila University (Manila /
    Luzon)

    5. University of Sto. Tomas (Manila / Luzon)

    6. Mindanao State University (Mindanao)

    7. Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
    (Manila /
    Luzon)

    8. Saint Louis University (Baguio City / Luzon)

    9. University of San Carlos (Cebu City /
    Visayas)

    10. Xavier University (Cagayan de Oro /
    Mindanao)

Bro thats the average for the 10 years. Not for 1 year. As to your year over year scenario... 100 % means over 10 years they were 100 % gets.... so the list stand....

^ So there's no need to argue. This list stands. That's fine with me.
