it doesn't matter what month you take the NMAT... the most important thing is you must take the NMAT a year before you enter medical school... that way, your credentials/requirements are ready when the admissions committee ask for your NMAT score...

yep! the bookstores along recto have price tags on their books. the prices can still be bargained. lucky you if you convince the sales ladies to bring down the price of the book for you.

gudluck sa nmat nyo. i took my nmat nung december 2002. when i was still in my 3rd yr college. i even enrolled in a review center which i find really not advisable.

self review nalang kayo, baka mas mataas pa grade nyo. sobra mahal kasi ng mga review centers. as to take the exam on december or april, i think it doesnt really matter. although a lot of people take the exam on december tlaga, tapos i THINK lang, na yung mga mababa grade sa december, retake it on april.

as to nmat review books, just study ur basics in math, science (chem,p6,bio) ul do good.

    again, gudluck!

it's true! if some students didn't get their "expected" NMAT scores, they re-take it again & use the 1 with the highest scores for their application in medical schools.

the review center worked for me coz we didn't have some of the basic sciences like biochemistry. who would remember organic & inorganic chemistry, physics, social sciences, & even math (kaya nga nag-PT dahil b-b- sa math eh!) when it was lectured to us years ago, when our minds were dominated by anatomy, physio, & the rest of medical-surgical conditions encountered in our profession?

    NMAT Inquiry

    Good day to all

I have a few questions about NMAT

    1. Where can I get an application form for NMAT?
    2. How much is the application fee?
    3. What topics are included in the exams?

    Thank you in advance....

  7. #107
u can get the application form for nmat in their office, sa legaspi st. sa may makati. or if ur reviewing in a review center, they provide u with the form na.

application and processing fee is 1,700 all in all. i think 500 for the application form, and 1,200 for processing i think.

topics include : FOR APTITUDE -- verbal, quantitative, inductive reasoning, perceptual acquity.

FOR SPECIAL AREA -- biology, physics, chemistry, social science.

    gudluck!! =)

i scored + (hehe). Don't be afraid, be confident man....practice..practice and practice the first part (perceptual acuity, inductive reasoning, and math)and yes with time pressure. Pray before taking it.

...one year na pala ang nakakaraan, dati ako ang nagtanong nito here in pex.

Hi! I took the NMAT of December 1999 (it was memorable because a few hours before the exam, Manila was hit by an earthquake). This is my general observation on achievment tests: they focus on the basics. So get back to the fundamentals because once you've understood them, the rest will be a breeze.

I did enrol in a review center because just about everybody in my class enrolled. They may help you but I prefer studying alone.

    Goodluck and all the best!

hi there altwegg! thanks for replying...

scary naman, parang omen or sumting yung quake...did u go to med school btw?

they say nga i should concentrate on the important parts (aka basics)...oh well, im starting to read my bio and chem books already, im also taking notes...hehe tagal pa naman kasi december and those review centers dont start till july or august, so i guess il do the studying alone for the mean time...

so, meron pa ba ibang nag-nmat **? reply naman kayo for those who want to be a doctor!

    NMAT

I took the NMAT a long time ago, dec 1995. I was a biology graduate, and most of my subjects already covered the required readings in the exam. But, its not enough though. The basics are important. Physics and Chemisty are also important. Along with English I think. Join a review center so that more or less you'll be familiar with the kind of exam you're going to face, plus review of basics wouldn't hurt.
I don't know if the NMAT of today is still the same as before. I took up medicine and graduated already. Having private practice now. Believe me, its still a long way to go man. But take it one step at a time.
    Good luck.
