kahit one degree is good enough, pero from all the lawyers na boss ko sa ojt ko sa DOJ. sinasabi nila may advantage daw talaga ng kaunti yon mga LMG and BSA kasi may background na in obligations and contracts pati taxation,. pero di naman daw required since everything will be taught from scratch

^ So ok na yung LMG ko as Com?

Sabi kasi nila, BSA covers taxation subjects daw w/c ITO, is the hardest bar subject. So parang, demi-god ka na 'ata nun.
Hindi lang sure kung covered din 'yun ng LMG.

naku can't really say. pero i think most CBE courses naman may basic law subjects like oblicon, bucutax etc. di ako familiar sa flowchart ng BSA at LMG

based on what I've heard from my collegaues and family members, ang nirereklamo pa rin talaga nila ay yung "SOCRATIC" based education ng law school which is extensively done here. Makukuha mo lang daw talalag yung magagamit mo sa bar exams sa review school na since puro lecture na lang, you only get what you need.

precisely. kaya nga may study na kinomission sina Dean Diokno, to look at the possibilities of implementing a new system of teaching law. hehehe...

I'm seeing CoL as one of the best law schools in the Philippines in 5 to 8 years. I know it is quite biased, but many are excited about how La Salle would train students for legal profession.

Well, I have to agree to someone who said that many would give up their slots in UP and Ateneo, even if they would pass in these schools. May mga nakilala ako na ganun gagawin. Ewan ko, they see CoL curriculum as innovative, and bonus na rin na 1st batch sila ng gagraduate sa Law school. Un nga lang, kung mareretain sila.

I hope La Salle would prove in numbers and in words that they are forming a top law school.

The thing is, what other law schools do is to teach topics that would most likely to appear in the bar exam. Ang labo nung ganun. Not holistic. I saw the curricula of CoL, UP, Ateneo, UST, San Beda and Baste, UP and CoL lang ata ang may special topics and electives na out of bar exam scope talaga.

Napakahirap kasi pumasa ng bar exam kaya ganun. Unlike in the US where the bar passing rate is 50%, here its just 23% so there's no room left for any other law electives.

May kasabihan nga dito, huwag ka muna mangarap kung anong specialization gusto mo, ipasa mo muna yung bar tsaka ka na magdecide anong klaseng abugado gusto mo maging

I would personally choose to focus on the bar exam instead of getting into 400 hour OJTs XD

yup. other law schools are geared "only" towards passing the bar. bar is not the sole determinant of effective law practice. i've seen many cum laudes and even magna cum laudes of law schools flunking the bar (during their first take). the bar is very subjective (darating sa punto na ang handwriting at kapaguran ng examiner ang nagiging basehan). hahaha

the problem with this mentality is you're training only to pass the bar, not to become a [great] lawyer. kaya nga there is a need to refocus the perspective of law schools. kaya nga nag-commission ng study ang CoL on how to change/revise/improve the current law curriculum and the system on teaching law. in the US, bar is just one of those licensure tests; unlike here. hahaha... ang trend nga sa ibang country, masyado nang free ang students. i can't remember that country where there are only 3-5 bar subjects. the rest, electives na.

Para dun sa nagtatanong about LMG and BSA, well ako since I'm a CPA masasabi ko na mas ok na pre-law ang BSA kasi unlike LMG na walang board exam, yung mga business law and taxation part eh 1 subject siya sa CPA board, so more or less "mahahasa" ka talaga sa mga subjects na yun.

Ako rin may letter na haha

Hmm. Pano kunwari, hindi ako natuloy ng Law. Ano ang mas mainam, specific-disciplined BSA? or 'yung general business management aspect of LMG?

Medyo hesitant ako sa BSA kasi kalaban ko talaga numbers. Tska, sobrang hirap nga ng BSA sa La Salle. Pero, I'm reconsidering it.

Medyo madugo nga lang ata ang magiging LIACOM ko sakaling palitan ko. From LIM-LMG, LIM-BSA na.

Mas marami kasing opportunities pag CPA ka eh. Can't explain further sa LMG kasi di ko alam yung scope ng course na yan.

Well mahirap talaga ang BSA sa DLSU, trust me napagdaanan ko na yan. Kaya super pag-isipan mo kung itutuloy mo ba siya or not. Good luck sayo
