Also most of their on-air arguments could have been resolved with a little research and logic like they kept harping on and on about the government not caring about squatters when there's actually a law that requires the government to provide relocation sites when evicting informal settlers yet they still don't want to move because — wait for it — Bulacan or Rizal is too far from their work!

Another one is the cross pose controversy — one of them could have just mentioned that Catholics/Christians treat the most pivotal days of their religion as an annual vacation which is far worse than tourists/locals (ignorantly but not maliciously) posing on a cross that was propped as an attraction.
their morning show is just boring for me, i listened maybe less than 5 times lang... sana palitan na to...for me the best will be Roanna's slot! especially "Hertz So Good" !

Which is exactly why I don't listen to talk shows on radio stations - they just don't know what they're talking about. It's like they were given the license to air their opinions freely - but in so doing, making them appear stupid with nonsense comments typically coming from airhead jocks.

The problem with today's set of radio broadcasters is that the basic credentials of a DJ have long been forgotten - great voice (who's got a fantastic voice on radio today - no one!), intelligence, preparation for boardwork, etc. - tenets that aren't evident anymore among these jocks. Today, you just have to look good to come on air - as if it matters.

When jocks like Scotty start blabbing on air without any sense, I just simply tune out. The problem is younger listeners get easily impressed with his accent. But try listening to what he's talking about? Zilch!

Honestly, I'd take Scotty (Crawford) and even the insufferable Mo Twister over those screeching parlorista chimpanzees and former fish vendors/jeepney barkers infesting "masa" radio with their Taglish f@gg0try

No argument on the so-called "masa" radio jocks. I've long accepted that these personalities will dominate the FM airwaves when they used to have the AM base as their dwelling place. A lot of people actually may lay blame on 93.9 DWKC-FM, the SMILE Radio of the mid to late 80's as the pioneer of the "masa" format on FM radio. But in truth, this has long been existent, dating back in the 70's with the MARECO radio station conceptualizing "SUPER TUNOG PINOY" on its 105.1 band. Besides, it's not like that jocks like Nicole Hyala, Chris Tsuper, Papa Dan, etc. act that they're the most intelligent creatures in the world. I have no appreciation for what they're doing but at least, they don't act like "know-it-all."

But when you have a breed of radio jocks who impress on their listeners with their "western" or call center accents, who try hard to sound educated by using non-everyday words, or who simply don't do any research on any field of topic, then that takes the cake. I've listened to jocks like these several times (Scotty is one of them) and their style is to come up with a five minute monologue of blabbing illiterate stuff that absolutely has no sense at all. You give them the benefit of the doubt by actually trying to listen to the entire five minutes (shuddering and asking, "when will this end?" ), dissecting what they're trying to say, only to end up with a one word question - "huh?"

Signs of the times really when radio has gone beyond interactive with its audience and its DJ's trying to act like experts on different fields of discussion. I realize this but I only hope they prepare for this extensively before going on air. I think that's the least they can do for their listeners.

Nothing against radio talk shows, but I'd rather they'd stick to "fun" topics, than trying to be "relevant". I did love it when they had the Big Breakfast Show with Hilary & Lambert (and a 3rd guy I can't remember right now...)

And sorry Scotty, but I stopped listening to 88.3's morning show when you came on board. I just can't relate to you...

    Sigh.

Magaling mag-isip si Roanna ng mga segments sa slot niya. I miss DJ Lana.Haay.

They had a fracas on air last Wednesday

Sho brought up the story about the 12 year-old who was suspended for wearing a "Life is wasted without Jesus" t-shirt. It was justified considering that American public schools prohibit outright religious displays — but then it became an all-out debate that could have been resolved if they stuck with the bolded statement and took their emotions and personal beliefs out of the equation. Basically here's how it went:

    • Sasha thinks it infringes on one's freedom of expression and religion — In theory yes but there's a valid reason for it
    • Scotty considers it as a totally harmless statement shirt comparable to "I love Allah" — No, more along the lines of "Anyone who listens to indie is a hipster idiot"
    • Sho insists that it's an attempt to stick religion in other people's face and convert them — uh-huh and I guess you're offended as well by guys wearing "Real men wear pink"

The heated and merry-go-round debate lasted for almost an hour punctuated by Sho snapping “Don't roll your eyes on me, WOMAN!!”

Show left Jam na pala; it was announced casually by Scotty during Road Watch today. Strangely this was after he apologized for an unconfirmed comment he made several weeks back about a teacher getting it on with a student on an international school.

Oh well, at least The Rebel Circus's appeal just went up to 47% for me (up from 13%)

Sad that Show's gone. Then again, I couldn't keep up with the changes lately over at Jam so minsan na lang rin ako kung makinig.
