oh... when we went there pala from busuanga via seair... the plane seair provided was a small one. As in max siguro na 25 passengers and our checked-in bags were within grabbing distance

and we felt all the choppy whatever up there... tumutulo din yung plane and walang aircon and at almost P4000/ea, that's an expensive flight talaga!

pero koboy naman kami eh... and I was just so enamored of the islands were passing kaya ok lang...

hopefully they're using better planes now... or newwer ones at least

    El Nido in one day

Guys, worth ba mag biyahe from Puerto Princesa to El Nido to spend just one whole day island hopping? Since island hopping is broken down to tours A, B, Cand D, can we not do at least three in one day? O di kaya meron bang boats na makukuha na kayang i-maximize ang island hopping in one day?

  3. #63
sonny.... 8 hours po ang byahe from Pto Princesa to El Nido (and vice versa)... not sure what time ang alis ng bus sa Pto. pero sa El Nido, the bus leaves at around 6 AM (pero dahil sa dami ng stops na ginagawa nya, swerte na kung 3 PM nga eh asa Pto ka).

and if you're referring to the island hopping tours that El Nido boutique offers... enough lang talaga each tour for a day (unless they specify na half-day tour sya)... they serve lunch with the tours (and drinks, mostly softdrinks)... and when you island hop, you don't just hop, take pics and go... madali na yung 1 hour per stop and tour goers literally enjoy snorkelling kasi (lalo pa if you'd be going with other groups of people, where some won't be as strong swimmers)

pero am sure meron kayo makukuhang boats siguro who can take you to many points... yun lang nga, hindi magiging leisurely yung tour nyo... and i doubt pa rin na LAHAT

minsan din kasi... some places are off limits... because of the current, the weather, because there was a spill, because there's some rituals being performed (who knows)...

good review on a boatman in El Nido

since we are relying on tips and advices of travelers before us, let me share with you a great review from a recent visit to el nido.

    http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/n...2206551&ref=nf

If this link is not open to public, here are snippets of this person's spectacular experience doing beach camping there, which she said she owes to their boatman, Mang Ronnie Diokno

"I could thank the friends I was with for being so cool and spontaneous, or El Nido for being so ridiculously beautiful, or Tanduay for being so affordable. But most importantly, I owe this adventure to Mang Ronnie Diokno, our boatman/captain/tour guide."

"I initially met him when we rented his boat for an 'island-hopping' tour the day before. He seemed nice and reliable and so I decided to consult him on my beach camping plan. I wanted to stay on an island with a nice clear long beach where one could go swimming, snorkling, etc. -- believe me I was very particular. But Mang Ronnie patiently answered my every question. Finally, he decided that Pinagbuyutan was the place for us. He also knew 'people' and was able to get us an overnight permit in a snap. And we were off."

"Thanks to Mang Ronnie and his wingman, Arns, who also happened to be a former chef in one of the restuarants in El Nido, we didn't even have to worry about cooking! For two days, we looked forward to wonderfully presented grilled fish, squid, fruits and salads. All the while, our two guides would remind us not to leave our things unattended and give us other helpful tips. For P500 per person (yes, for the WHOLE 2-day affair, food excluded but you can bring your own for them to cook), we were seriously happy campers. "

You can contact Mang Ronnie Diokno at +63908-5155343 or look for Stardust Tours beside Corong-Corong market, El Nido.

So, if you or your friends are off to El Nido, why not try Mang Ronnie. Im still looking for the El Nido thread, i will post there too. Hope you won't treat this as flooding, i just hope we can all have great experiences in our travels.

    Happy Summer to all!

How much ang cheapest island hopping sa El Nido?

  8. #68
hey mga kababayan, just went to El Nido last July 9-11, 2009 with my fiancee, so lucky dahil hindi umulan that time. the place is really a paradise, literally. cant compare talaga. i would suggest to stay in Miniloc Island Resort rather than Lagen Island. why?

    Advantages of Miniloc
    - mas cheaper sya sa Lagen, yes Lagen is newer than Miniloc, but mas longer yung time mo na nasa labas ka ng room or ng resort. so papano mo masusulit yung bayad mo sa room na mahal ??, kapag nandun kana sa El Nido and first time mo, ewan ko lang if makuha mong tumambay sa room mo hehehe. and at the same time same lang naman ang activities and food.
    - mas malapit ang Miniloc sa mga major activities activities like Small and Big Lagoon (Which their best or pangbenta ng El Nido talaga.)
    - malapit lang din sya sa Entalula Island a long stretch of white sand beach club. in this Island usually dito nag lulunch ang mga guest to the following day. So mas mamamaximize mo yung time mo to spend to snorkeling kayaking picture taking and swimming.
    - Miniloc is 10-15 minutes away from small and big lagoon.

*** mga nagsasabi na mas maganda sa Lagen, ang reason lang namn nila is dahil luma yung room???, It doesn't mean luma eh hindi na maganda. Dahil ba may swimming pool?, their swimming pool is common fyi. ... well its up pa rin sa inyo yan mga kababayan..

if im going back to El Nido, with no hesitation, sa Miniloc pa rin ako, i can afford to go to Lagen pero dahil sa mga advantages above i prefer Miniloc pa rin.

Ive been in Lagen and its really a nice place. but the location and price, i think you have to think about what is the best option.

and dont forget to bring underwater camera!!! you'll miss a lot if di kayo nakapagdala.

Hi! to those who travelled from PP to El nido. I just want to ask few questions:

    1. We will be arriving in PP at 9:45 via cebu pacific. We are actually 4 in a group. I heard that the van (Fort wally) will be leaving PP at 7AM. Is it ok for a request to leave PP @ 11AM? even if we pay extra?

    2. We will leave El nido two days after. Is it ok to leave El nido in the afternoon to get to Puerto Princesa in the evening? If so, is it ok for Fort wally to pick us up in the afternoon?

    Thanks for any replies.

was in El Nido lat Sept. 12-14, hope i could help.

    1. it would actually depend on what you discussed w/ your van operator. yes, you can request for it and you don't have to pay extra.

    2. what time in the afternoon? travel time is usually 6-7 hrs, depends upon the weather and road conditions. bad weather results to longer hours of travel time, since you'll encounter "moon crater"- like roads for about two and half hours during the trip.
