    pamalican island, palawan.

    starts at P50-60k/night/person

arguably the best (beach) resort in the philippines.

Is it advisable for me to just fly into El Nido town and find accomodation (not picky. just a room.) easily in between Christmas and New Year's this year? Thanks in advance.

sobrang konti ng backpacker hostels sa el nido town, poor quality pa lahat. up to you if you are willing to take the risk.

^ I could probably go for under 2K/night accomodation. Is it easy to find one?

  5. #45
^ Though most of the accommodations for those with a backpacker's budget have no websites or phone numbers advertised that you can call, El Nido town is actually a very small town. You can probably walk around the main area in about 30 minutes so it's not that hard to find a place to stay if you're not picky. There's plenty of resorts/inns that offer rooms. Besides, as you've probably read, it's not that easy to go to El Nido so it won't be as crowded as other beaches like Boracay during Christmas to New Year.

By the way, if you're going there, a must-do is the activity they call "cliff climbing". It offers a great view of the town and Bacuit Bay. You can get a guide at El Nido Boutique and Art Cafe.

Below is a picture I took with my point-and-shoot cam.

    -----------

newaiz, i've been to el nido as well, in december 05. we stayed in lagen resort. i wish i can return to this place...it was a such a fun and memorable vacation.

i like little lagoon more than the big lagoon, pero exciting nung nagkayak kami pabalik sa boat galing sa big lagoon. ang lalaki ng alon (hanging habagat na kasi), sinundo pa kami nung isang guide dahil inaanod kami pahampas sa batuhan

looking for cheap accommodations? try og's inn

el nido, the main island is a lot like what Boracay must have been like before it got super commercialized...

lots of inns na beach front... and you can swim na right there

lots of alleys behind the inns

also... lots of carinderia type places to eat as well as affordable restos (balay tubay offers reggae music and artworks pa)

and el nido boutique offers a place to eat, shop and hook up with other travellers to go island hopping with (tours)

seair ang most popular plane going to el nido via busuanga or pto. princesa... yung direct flight, siguro yung chartered flights for big groups

ice...if sa pto. princesa kayo pupunta... el nido is 8 hours of bus trip away (not sure yung cost ng plane ride)

accomodations in el nido varies. May mura me mahal. If budget traveller ka I would suggest OG's INN sure ka pa na me ilaw ka dahil me solar power sila. So times na walang ilaw hinde maingay sa knila because naka solar power yung lights nila. Maganda rin yung katabi nilang resort Marina ata yun medyo pricey pero affordable parin kasi new naman kaya okay na rin. Sa food, sabi nga me mga carinderia so don't worry puede rin yung pumunta kayo sa market and buy and cook your own food mura lang ang seafoods mahal pa yung pork, beef and chicken lol! Most of the resto in el nido caters to foreign tourist kaya it's a bit pricey. Meals starts from 150 to 350 pesos. El nido boutique is also a resto and it's a must na mag dine kayo kasi masarap tlaga even their simple sandwiches. On gimik nights go kayo sa Squido's don't be fooled sa Hard Rock dun kasi ewan parang club/bar with bar girls dun at ewan basta but if you want to experience bahala kayo.

Basically wala naman masayadong gagawin sa shore mismo most of the best things in el nido is the nearby islands. But we also went to a hot spring somewhere just ask the tricycle driver to take you there sasamahan pa nila kayo hanggang sa hot spring. Pero this one is super extra challenge lalakad pa tapos putik combination basta ganun. We also went to makinit falls ata yun.. maganda rin pero tulad ng hot spring that we went to, from the main road mahabang lakaran din. And of course yung cliff climbing..hmmmm hinde ko kinaya toh! I backed out sila na lang. This is really dangerous lalo't kung hinde kayo sure na certified tour guides ang kasama nyo. We'll feeling ko eventhough, pag nadulas ka dun eh ewan ko lang. Pero super worth it naman because I saw the pics and video taken by the group I was super envy but I didn't regret it naman because I know my capabilities wala akong powers ni gagambina hehehe
Of course you should have a sunset watching/dinner at 7 commando's Island it's really worth it.
    I guess that about it
