I was just citing some facts why I think UST is best when it comes to Architecture aside from Medicine,Literature,PT,Nursing,Fine Arts,Engineering, etc.

The (Beato and the Research Complex)... Kasi dahil dun sa CCP yung parang may slab sa taasna akala mo e thick massive cemented big rectangular slab eh illusion lang pala

i beg to disagree, although i think UST produce the best architects, i believe that The Beato (UGGH) is one of the worst works of art that i have ever seen, it is completely devoid of any style, ika nga, parang "chopsuey" if i may use the term, it looks like a mix of everything and anything, it's not bad mind you, but it wasn't done in good taste, look at the facade, glass and concrete, the side has balconies which are not accessible at all, the public toilet is in the lobby, the columns do not match the facade. etc, there are a lot of flaws, too many really.

if you had looked at the proposed new 13storer beato (due to be finished i think at 2004) you would see the plans are nothing short of spectacular, whoever saw any self-respecting architect, placing fire escapes INSIDE a classroom, how would students from other classrooms and on the hallways have access to it, what if the room is locked when there is a fire, what if the students uses the fire escape only to find out after they have reached the ground floor that the classroom is locked how the heck do they get out then? the facade totally stinks and the provisions for elevators, only 2? what the !!$@@ sad to say, i think one of the most frequent excuses for being late after the building is complete would be "ma'm tagal kasi ng elevator eh!"

yes, dean reyes was a good dean, and she had some good buildings and houses, but the beato was just not one piece of !@#$.

1) UST has the most number of Archi board topnotchers(past to present).

2) UST has produced the most successful and respected Architects in the country(Locsin,Manosa,Lor Calma,Formoso,Santos-Viola,Mariano, etc.).

3) UST has also produced winners in Archi student competitions.
