When you say painless, please be specific as to what kind of anesthesia would you like to have. Usually in big hospitals, epidural anesthesia is given (usually at 5-7 cms, epidural anesthesia is given. The laboring woman won't feel any pain once epidural anesthesia is administered. In lying-in clinics, IV sedation is usually given plus the local anesthesia during episiotomy. In IV sedation, it just help the laboring woman to rest in between contractions, however, she will still feel the labor pain.

In big hospitals (Makati Medical Center, Medical City, St. Luke's, Asian Hospital, etc), normal delivery (under private set-up, not the package) with epidural anesthesia may costs from P50,000 to P100,000. This, of course, depends on what room did you choose (suite, small private, ward); your doctor's status in the OB society, the anesthesiologist; any unexpected complications on the mother and the baby.... etc. The CS deliveries in these hospitals might range from P80,000 to P150,000. Others might reach P200,000 pa nga.

Here's a preview of Maternity Package in Makati Medical Center. Patients are admitted into semi-private rooms. This package includes only UNCOMPLICATED CASES (so if there's hypertension or diabetes, patients can't avail of this).
Total Package (Hospital Bill and Doctor's Fees) 1. Spontaneous vaginal delivery - P40,000 2. Spontaneous vaginal delivery with ligation - P59,000 3. Elective CS - P65,000 4. Twins Cesarean Section - P90,000 5. Outpatient dilatation and curettage - P18,000 |

Hi guys,
I've been reading the recent posts of this thread and wala akong nakita na cost breakdown for giving birth at Asian Hospital or Medical Center Manila (UN Ave.). My OB Gyne is Dra. Vergara and she holds clinic at both hospitals. I have already been 'seduced' by the facilities, cleanliness, rooms and service of Asian Hospital so I plan to give birth there. But after reading some of the posts here, parang sobrang mahal pala sa Asian! If ND ako, I will spend about 60-90K. Pag CS, around P150K. From what I have heard, my OB charges P50K PF for CSat Asian. Di ko sure how much pag ND. I would like to know kung sulit ba sa Asian and kung OK din ba manganak sa Medical Center Manila and how much would it cost. Thanks!!! |

but last month, i had a threatened abortion and was rushed to Medical City (thank God it is a mere 2 minutes away from our home). i think the extras are worth it. when i had a transvaginal done, the sonologist/ doctor really calmed my fears and answered all my questions. unlike sa cheaper clinics were TVUs are 500+pesos only, parang the 2,000+pesos of Medical City came with all the assurance i needed to know that our baby is A-ok. so kahit 80K+ manganak dun, dun nalang ako. my friend gave birth there too. umabot sya sa 115K. yikes! |

oh my !

sa madocs... yung CS can be as cheap as around P60k and as much as over P100k... depende sa PF ng doctor, sa room mo, in case may complications yung delivery o yung baby...
