guys, any tips po about sa mga Vietnamese, kung paano sila pakikisamahan. titira po kasi ako sa Vietnam for 6 weeks, magkakaroon po ako ng host family dun.

ineexpect ko na parang Pinoy din sila na mas conservative nga lang... tama ba?

ano ba mga positive at mga negative na ugali nila?

ano kaya tingin nila sa mga pinoy?

sorry, we did not get too close to know any Vietnamese personally. someone hosted our city tour and lunch but we never stayed in their home.

there are two kinds of Vietnamese: Southerner and Northerner. Southerners are very (touristy) friendly, smiley, and they know or understand english. the Northerner are a bit arrogant and literally no english.

since Vietnamese are slim, they love chubby pinays.

gotta lick it, sa Ho Chi Mih then kuha na lang ako ng flight going to Hanoi.

your taking a risk. your target flight might be fully booked by that time and you might waste sometime getting the next flight. our Jetstar flight was packed. its not like Kuala Lumpur which is a hub of various airlines. you could do online mockbooking with any airlines. better prepare an IT and then do your online booking.

Bukod sa Halong Bay, ano pa po ba ang pwedeng makita sa Hanoi? Nalilito tuloy ako kung sa Ho Chi Mih na lang yung puntahan namin pero gusto ko kasing makita yung Halong Bay. hehehe.

HaLong Bay is not in HaNoi. it is another city. HaNoi is the capital of VietNam but it is also has the most world heritage sites in one city.

HaNoi tourist sites are as follows:
Ho Kiem Lake (no entrance fee);
Thang Long Water Puppet Theater;
Ba Dinh Square [Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh House, and , One Pillar Pagoda, a world heritage site] (no entrance fee);
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum;
Ho Chi Minh Museum;
Old (Thang Long) Citadel, a world heritage site
Van Muie Temple of Literature [Physician's Stele, a world heritage site]
Trang Quoc Pagoda;
Co Lao Citadel;
St. Joseph Cathedral;
Hao Lo Prison;
HaNoi Opera House;
Bat Trang Village; and
lots of museums.

any idea as to how long *** byahe from HCM to the Cu Chi area?

the Cao Dia/Cu Chi bus tour took us half the day. we left around 9am and got back to HCMC around 6pm. the tourist operators practice the 40kmp speed limit. maybe the shuttle tour would be faster.

thanks for the info. tssk sa North pa naman ako pupunta. di naman siguro maiirita mga northerners saken kung smiley ako?

may mga dala akong mga keychain-wallet (yung common na gaya ng mga isda na leather), wooden keychains and bracelets... pasalubong ko sa kanila. maaappreciate nila kaya yun?

you'll be surprised because young Northerners are also into KPOP fashion.

theres no nightlife in HaNoi. the hostels lock their door before midnight and open around 6am. the time zone in VietNam is an hour late so just image how itchy one could get just to hit the scene.

50000 dong po ang price ng simcard nila.

pag magaactivate ng roaming, yung mismong activation wala namang charge di ba?

sino may friend na vietnamese dito or marunong bumasa ng vietnamese? may ipapatranslate lang po... yung mga online translator kasi iba iba ang lumalabas kaya i doubt kung accurate sila. thanks!

Nung pumunta kami dun for 4 days, the whole time umuulan, buti na lang tumila siya nung nasa Cu Chi tunnels kami, pero August naman kasi iyon.

hi here, does anyone know kung ilang days kaya makakarating if i send a postcard from a hcmc to canada? i'll be there tomorrow until Sunday and i'm thinking of sending a postcard + a small book for my friend's birthday on the 11th. I doubt though it'll reach canada in 5 days or less. if express mail kaya, gano kamahal?

ok naman sila,,mas conservative mga pinoy,tignan mo na lang sila kung panu sila manamit. hehe


dyan ako nag OJT last year,di naman sila mahirap pakisamahan,yun nga lang bilang lang sa kanila nakakaintindi at nakakapag salita ng English

will spend my holyweek in hanoi apr 6-8...a bit rush but i'm still hoping we could try the halong bay overnight cruise no booking done yet for our halong bay cruise coz i am not sure if they can accomodate us on apr 7th coz we need to be at the airport by 2pm to catch our 4pm flight on the 8th...wt u think? or just go for a halong bay day tour? i wanna sleep overnight in a junk boat.

we need more info but if your planning to go to the Pham Ngu Lao (district 1) area there 24hr restaurants along De Tham near the Sinhcafe office. one of these is the Nha Hang restaurant which is like your ordinary restaurants in Morayta or PNoval.

sorry for the late reply.

not sure on how long it would take but the postage may vary from 24K-36K dong per letter. postcards should be cheaper because it does not weight much. packages would more expensive. VietPost has EMS service.

p.s. mailed my correspondence from HaNoi and not from HCMC; and those were sent to SKorea, Japan and Australia.
