Question The Thread for Passport Questions

hi peeps, maybe u could help me out. i want to go on a honeymoon out of the country. will there be any problem with my passport if it shows my maiden name?can i change my family name sa passport even before the wedding?

  2. #2
You can travel with a passport containing your maiden name but make sure that your plane ticket and all other travel documents, IDs and reservation vouchers will show your maiden name as well.

  3. #3
I think there's no problem if you will be using your passport with your maiden name in it. However, you can't apply for a passport using your soon to be husband's family name while you are not yet married because you would need to present your marriage contract to DFA for that.

  4. #4
oh great! thanks so much travelbug & angst!

  5. #5
it wouldnt be a prob bsta all your docs have the same name. ur not married yet so ur single pa rin

  6. #6

180% increase on processing fees. so im planning to apply while its cheap.

for how long valid ang passport, say i got mine na this november?

im married na, may bearing ba iyon? mas mahirap ba makakuha?

    waiting for your replies, thanks

  8. #8
I can't recall the exact amount but it's somewhere between 500-600 if you want to apply on your own; meaning ikaw pipila sa DFA. If you want to have it done through a travel agent, mga nasa 1,200+ yata.

You passport will be valid for 5 years.

    hmmm...

when we went to Vietnam iniiscan nila yung passport namin.

tinanggal pa nga yung jacket nun passport ko then iniscan ulit.

siguro kaya tinanggal sa jacket kasi di mas scan... at nun tinangal na sa jacket wala pa rin mascan kaya ang kasunod why are we there, where are we staying and how long before they stamped our passports.

Di nga maganda yung film covering the picture. He asked the DFA kung ano gagawin. Kelangan daw palitan na yung passport. He needs to get an affidavit of mutilation from a lawyer then pay again for renewal kahit di pa expired ang passport.

May personal appearance kasi pag first time applicant. Yung 1200 will cover your passport processing fee pati na bayad sa services ng agency.

If you are in a rush, you should go to DFA kasi 2 days lang (dati) pwede mo na makuha passport mo. Dati I forgot that my passport was about to expire and I realized it only a week before I was about to fly. So takbo ako sa DFA, pumila ako from 1AM kasi that time limited ang number ng ginagawa nilang passport.

You'll never know baka maisipan niyo na lang mag-travel. Mabuti na yung nakahanda.

question lang po, medyo out of topic: with this new machine readable passport, handwritten pa rin ba info sa passport natin?

hehe i find it jologs kasi, handwritten yung passport natin (i got mine sa pinas eh)

    :P

Actually my mom renewed her passport and sobra dali lang daw. Ewan ko kung pagpaparenew lang ang maikli na pila, pero both people na napagtanungan ko, hindi naman daw talaga ganun kahaba, even sa new passport. And you don't even have to come back for your passport kasi you can have it delivered to your house.

You can check out their website.

and correct beware of the the people na magdidiscourage sa iyo na kesyo mahaba ang pila and that they can help you expidite the process.

from what i remember ito yung process na dinaanan ko.

    1. fill up d form, u need two passport size picture, white background, decent attire. walang bayad yung form.

30++ pages or 60++ pages?regular that time was 700 express is about 1k or more.

tip: kung di mo rin naman kailan pa yung passport get it 2-3 weeks after your schedule.
